Ironically, Leverage and Almost Paradise is what brought me back to Tumblr, so I did it in reverse đ
Hm, a The Pretender x Leverage crossover.
Jarod still up to his old tricks and way ahead of them hands them the evidence on a silver platter with a wink and "Keep up the good work guys".
I love this so much, The Pretender really helped set the tone for the kinds of shows I grew up to watch on my own - it was a family show when I was a kid, and now I watch Leverage with my own family đ
Eliot Spencer gives off such "dad who didn't want a damn dog but came around real fast" energy
All I could picture was Hardison instead of a dog. Hardison. Hardison's restaurant and brewery. Pretty much anything Hardison.
Almost Paradise 1x1 - "Finding Mabuhay"
It took me 2 tries to get into this show. The first time it was just feeling a bit too cheesy, then it was recommended by someone who I don't always see eye-to-eye with...so I was skeptical. I finally dove in after watching Leverage and rewatching The Librarians.
I'm so grateful I did. It is cheesy at times, but the character development for the mains is so real, the Philippines is shown beautifully, and from this very first episode they set up what makes the characters tick, and how they learn to understand each other as friends and partners.
I've fallen in love with the show over and over again as I watch it through the eyes of family and friends. We all see something different, we all highlight different moments. For me, as a Filipina raised in the USA, Christian Kane really walks the line between the duck out of water and experiencing the joys of the Philippines. I see the beauty of a country I've only been to once, and it calls to me.

Two and a half nickels? I can only think of two instances!
That Dean Devlin/Christian Kane promo video does make me wonder if they're just hanging out, joined up specifically to shoot a video to spread the word about the con, or if they're secretly scheming up further projects together (given that both The Next Chapter and Redemption both wrapped shooting a bit ago...)
My first thought was they filmed it during the Leverage shoot, but I'll accept secretly scheming.

Ok, real quick, speaking as a librarian, you absolutely cannot despair about the adult literacy crisis and shame adults for reading fiction books you do not personally care for or think are "challenging" at the same time. It doesn't work with kids, and it doesn't work with adults.
Here's how to increase someone's reading level:
1) Let them read whatever they choose without shame or judgment. Maybe get them talking about it using open-ended, non-leading questions to encourage critical thinking and comprehension.
2) Let them get bored after a while and seek out different books.
3) Repeat.
I feel like my body needs to be broken down into its component parts and then lovingly reassembled minutes and hours at a time, like a 5,000-piece jigsaw puzzle, over the course of a couple months
And this is why I'm in physical therapy, so figure out how to reboot some muscles and get them back to what they should be doing đŹ

i think that misunderstandings are misunderstood in writing. like obviously thereâs a point where itâs taken too far but me personally? i love misunderstandings. especially for lockwood and lucy (yes i have to put them in everything but theyâre such a perfect example) like let them kiss, and then have idk lockwood leave in a hurry because HE JUST KISSED LUCY CARLYLE and heâs just freaking out and lucy misinterprets that as him regretting kissing her. or they kiss in the heat of the moment and afterwards lockwood tells her that he needs to keep a distance from her because otherwise he wouldnât be able to keep his hands off of her. and obviously lucy thinks that he doesnât actually like her because he wants to stay away from her. but gimme misunderstandings and then give me the most heartfelt, gut wrenching, angsty explanation/make up scene ever.

This reminds me of when I was younger and I'd find and replace all the 'bad' words in fanfics before letting my baby sister read them. It was mostly fine. The greetings and salutations slayed.

This is extraordinarily amusing to me for an incredibly niche reason.
Head, Heart, and Hand was my school's motto. This makes it even better.
Of course I want a season 2+ of Lockwood & Co. Everyone involved did an amazing job - from the original stories being adapted to well to screen, to the cast who brought life to the characters, the set designers, the makeup artists, everyone - and I want there to be more.
But hear me out. I *really* want to physically own the series. Not just stream it on N. What if I cancel N? What if they pull it? Too many what ifs.
I'm a librarian and Archivist, believe me when I say that right now... we're all just leasing a piece of the world.
LockNation deserves to own it.
Lockwood and Co. has committed a terrible crime against humanity. It brought me out of fanfic hibernation. Will I ever finish this monster of a Lockwood/Bridgerton-esque story that my brain dreamt into creation? Who knows. Am I so absolutely rusty as a writer? Terrifyingly so. Am I enjoying the call of the creative after being suckered into an amazing show (and book series)? Absolutely.
sure everyone knows about the Talents of Sights, Touch, and Listening. what about Taste? you licks the walls of an ancient house and can pinpoint the type of ghost on that alone.
That ghost definitely needs more salt.
Ghosts are like potatoes, they always need more salt than you think.
