"I always hated that Violet ended up with her hair pushed back & wearing pink at the end of the Incredibles. Not that I have a problem with traditional “girly” looks, but I felt like the physical transformation undermined her self growth in confidence & skill and reinforced the ideas that her style was somehow inherently bad & that you need to look a certain way to be pretty, get the guy, and self confident. Which was very disappointing for a Pixar superhero movie that was otherwise brilliant"

Okay, except that Violet’s hair was more a physical representation of her in relation to her powers; it had nothing to do with looking more girly and it didn’t undermind her self growth in confidence.  It actually symbolizes how much she grows in that confidence.  She had to keep her ability hidden and so she tried to keep herself hidden, too.  She let her hair hang in front of her face so she had something to hide behind.  She pushed her hair back at the same time she was able to fully embrace her super powers and USE tthem.
