Dinner With Louis' Mum

Louis was dressed nice. He wore a pair of khaki's (skinny of course) and a long sleeve gray top. He even had a pair of black suspenders on. You wore a tight dress that was just above your knees. It was black with touches of gray to compliment Louis. Your hair was curled and makeup was just right. You were all dressed up to meet Louis' mum, Roberta. You were nervous as fuck, and so was Louis. He wanted everything to go just right. He knew he was going to marry you, and wanted to make sure his mum felt that she was the right choice.

The last thing Louis' mum wanted was for Louis to marry someone who wasn't good enough for him, after all she'd felt the pain of divorce, and didn't want Louis or his girlfriend to feel that pain.

You, and Louis got into your car and headed for The Royal Dragon in Doncaster. It was his mum's favorite restaurant. Louis turned to you in the car and asked if you were still nervous. "I'm getting more nervous the closer we get, but I think that once I'm in the moment I'll be fine." you told him, not expecting a reaction. "I really love you." he said. "I love you too Lou."

You arrived at the restaurant and met up with his mother. She introduced herself as Roberta and you as (Y/N). You took your seats and got right to conversation. She told you how much she loved your dress. You asked what she did for a living and she told you all about how she is a nurse at the local hospital. She then asked about your work, in which you told her how you worked as a psychiatrist. She was intrigued by this. You told her all about how you work with people from 9 to 90. You also told her that you worked with kids from recked homes, and kids going through bullying. She applauded you and Louis gave you a kiss on the head.

At the end of the dinner, Roberta went to use the bathroom, so you and Louis had a conversation. "She's a very nice lady Lou." you said without hesitation. "Thank you babe. I'm glad you like her. I can tell she likes you." he said as she sat back down. Lou payed the check and walked you and his mum out of the door, being sure to open the door for you both. You got into the car and Lou said goodbye to his mum. You didn't hear much of the conversation, but you did hear, "She's the one Lou. She's perfect for you." She said. He replied keenly with, "I know she is mum. She reminds me a lot of you. She's my best friend, but you'll always be my bestest friend.." And with that you quickly wiped away the tears as he kissed his mum goodbye and helped his mum into her car.

You blushed and began saying "Well, Umm-", then, realizing you were stumbling on words, Zayn continued. "Me and Y/N have been seeing each other in secret for 2 months and now we've decided to make it official." Zayn bent down to kiss you ever so gently. You smiled and Niall's face dropped but quickly picked back up in a fake smile you knew so well. Why was he so upset? You asked yourself. "Congrats, but I-I have to go." Niall said before walking off so quickly neither you nor Zayn had time to ask him what was going on. 

One Month Later

    "I love her!" you heard Zayn fiercely say from his room in his flat. He had invited you over but obviously something was up. You quietly shut the door and went upstairs and pressed your ear against the side of the door. "But I've loved her for years! You don't get it!" You heard a familiar Mullingar voice shout back, it almost sounded like he was crying. "Listen Niall," You could hear Zayn's voice sounding calmer, "I love Y/N with all of my heart and I won't ever do anything to hurt her, in the slightest. And if she ever tells me she loves you more than me, no matter how much it hurts, I wouldn't stand between you two." There was a quick silence until Niall said "Just don't tell her I said that...please" Your heart sank. You loved Niall, but as a friend, as a brother. Not the way you loved Zayn. You took a deep breath and opened the door. Both of their heads shot up. "YN" they said in unison, Zayn got up and went over to you, "Babe, I'm sorry. I didn't hear you come in." he paused for a second "How much of that did you hear, by chance?" "From the part where you shouted 'I love her!' " You said back looking at Niall who was looking down at his hands and flushed. You walked over to the bed Niall was sitting on and looked at him. "Niall look at me." You said firmly, but comfortingly. He looked up and you could see Zayn looking nervously at the floor. "Ni, I don't want to ruin our friendship, but I love you." Zayn looked like he was about to cry, he looked right at you, "But as more of a brother. I couldn't see us together. Niall you should be with someone who truly deeply loves you. I love Zayn with all my heart," you said turning to him, "Pleas don't hate me." He looked at you. "I couldn't hate you, I understand." He looked pained, like a brick had been dropped on him. "But I should go" He said getting up and walking out of Zayn's flat.

Somewhere Down the Line

     Zayn did end up being the one you married in the end. Niall, on the other hand, remained your best friend. He also has become your best friend's fiancee. They're perfect for each other and couldn't have been happier.

Dinner With Liam's Parents (Humorous)

Today was the day you were going to meet Liam's parents. You were meeting them at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. You didn't get to gussied up. Liam had told you how chill his parents were. He also told how his parents never did get to meet his other girlfriends. This made you happy. You got to set a standard if (and God forbid) you and Liam ever broke up. You wore simple clothes, high waist shorts and a baggy top that was tucked in, and some sandals that wrapped around your ankle. You were excited! Liam however, was a nervous wreck. This made you giggle most of the time, this being one of them. He was glad you weren't nervous, but kept going on and on about how he was worried they wouldn't like you. You told him to calm down and just breath. His breath was becoming so unsteady he was getting purple.

You finally left and showed up at the spot you all planned to meet, right in front Le Jules Verne, a restaurant on the tower. Liam had another panic attack, worrying that the tower would collapse and you would all die. His parents were there at this point and knew exactly how to calm him down during his little panic attacks. Chocolate. You definitely took notes on this. 

His parents (after calming Liam down) introduced themselves and Karen complimented your top. You and she started talking about fashion, which led to work. You told her how you were working at Vogue and you were a lead columnist. She instantly said, "That's where I've heard that name!!!!" You smiled and started conversation with Geoff. You started talking about all the Football teams (soccer for us Americans). You talked about Liverpool, and Manchester United. He was amazed that you knew so much about Football, and even joked about how Karen barely knew a thing. She chimed in saying, "I know one thing for sure, those players are PRETTY cute!" Geoff chuckled as did you and Karen. Liam however started worrying. Thinking his mother was having an affair and cheating on his dad. You knew what to do this time and just handed him some chocolate. 

At the end of the dinner you all got up and said goodbye, Liam of course saying "See you later!" worrying that his parents would think he meant goodbye forever. It was sometimes hard to tell if he was really this neurotic or he was pretending. You told him how much you really liked his parents and he was happy. On the elevator ride down from the restaurant (which you had Liam clenching onto the chocolate bar you gave him because he panicked about the elevator snapping) he stopped eating, and gave you a nice chocolate kiss on the cheek, and told you how much he loved you.

Dinner With Niall's Parents (Humorous)

Your dress was on, and your shoes were just right. Lou Teasdale did your hair and makeup for you, as you promised to take care of Lux in favor. Your hair was full and looked like you were going to walk a red carpet event, but you were really just going to meet Niall's parents, at Nandos. You were getting so dressed up just to impress his parents. Niall tried telling you not to go overboard, but why take that chance. You wanted his parents thinking the best of you, after all first impressions are everything.

Niall walked in, speechless. "You look, WOW. Just wow." "Thanks boo! I really hope they like me!" "They won't." He let it sink in for a second before cheekily replying with, "They'll love you." He could tell you were still quite nervous, and hugged you tightly. "Just be yourself. They're just like me, so they'll love you!" "That's GREAT." You said sarcastically, "I really want them to love me so much they ask me out." "Not like that (Y/N)!" He said lightly. 

You arrived at Nando's shortly after his parents arrived. His parents were friendly in introducing themselves with their first names, insisting you called them by them. Throughout your conversation with them, they told you many things about themselves, how they were divorced, but always stayed strong for Niall. They also told you things Niall got embarrassed about. Like his first bath (they even brought pictures) and his other girlfriends. This made you slightly uncomfortable, but you didn't mind hearing about these women, and differentiating yourself from them. Then you started telling them about you. How you worked as a waitress at Nando's before, and how you were currently interning with ESPN, which made Niall's dad intrigued. You told them how all you really did was get people coffee, but how you planned on creating the segments for the show, and perhaps even being in some of them yourself. You told them how you and Niall met at Nando's while you were waitressing. You felt so comfortable around his parents, as if they were your own. You found it so bizarre how quickly you got accustomed to them.

At the end of the dinner, you said your goodbyes, hugging each of his parents goodbye, as they invited you to join them for a family cookout next week, which you gladly accepted even though Niall couldn't go. You were excited for next week actually.

On the way home you told Niall how much you loved his parents. You told him how you couldn't believe you were so nervous. You also told him how you were excited for next week. He couldn't go to the cookout because he had a private show for some rich kid's sweet sixteen. You were okay with it though, and couldn't wait to meet the rest of his family. "I had so much fun with them tonight babe! I think it's time you met my parents!" With that statement his heart dropped and the car came to a sudden stop.
