wanted to draw this scene from chapter 9 of Hellfire by @one-piece-drabbles because i am absolutely fucking unhinged about this fic. took several hours longer than i expected bc as it turns out a person glowing from the inside is actually deceptively difficult to draw but i had fun so whatever

anyway everyone go read this fic and become mentally ill about it with me. it's literally just ten chapters of ace having the worst timeloop of all time and setting the government on fire in lieu of therapy.

it's pretty dark but it has a happy ending where asl hug it out and cry on each other so you'll be fine 👍

divided into a couple sections based on level of obscurity. i'm determining that based on # of bookmarks at time of writing this so if you click on a fic and it has way more bookmarks than the category says it should i choose to take personal credit for all of them.

almost none of my bookmarks are public bc i'm shy so while i do have all of these bookmarked i don't affect the numbers. which i feel mildly bad about, hence making this rec list lmao.

note that when i say these are asl fics what i mean is they're about asl, not that all of asl actually appear.

admittedly that may be because it's a time loop fic that starts during the Very Darkest Loop but guys, guys. it's so good. and it has a happy ending. the dark stuff makes the happy ending more satisfying. it's about the ✨catharsis✨.

sabo and ace reunion where they run into each other on some random island. one of the rare ones that draws it out a little instead of just instantly having sabo remember everything. sosososo good and everyone should read it.

the thing about fics with no bookmarks is that all of them are weird as fuck in some way. like bad fics still get bookmarks most of the time. the stuff that gets nothing is the stuff that was too esoteric for any of the people sorting by recent that day.

Something about how Deuce can't stay with the spade pirates because he ran away from home to find selfhood beyond the legacy of a doctor thrust upon him, and found it in Ace, who saw him as a person and a friend and a writer, but when Ace dies his purpose is reduced back to his medical knowledge. The spectacular adventure Deuce fantasized about is gone and his book remains unpublished because what is an adventure story without a protagonist that survives to the end if not a tragedy.
