“oh, i hope she is ok…” deklan did truly hope she was ok but had other things on his mind at the moment.

“look i overheard you say something once about this concert coming up… and well… i just so happen to have, um i , um… won a set of tickets on the radio… ya… and well i know you like her… and um… would you like to go with me to see the concert… with me?” he face palmed himself in his head for stumbling over his words so badly but that is what mandie did to him… she made him nervous… gave him butterflies… and he liked that. no other girl had ever done that to him.

he took a deep breath “and if you or anne need my help with anything just let me know ok? is she ok?

Mandie smiled at his nervousness. She couldn’t help but notice how nervous he was. She thought it was pretty cute. “Oh the Christina Perri concert? I’ve been dying to get tickets.” Mandie’s mind was rushing with thoughts. She didn’t know what to think of Deklan’s question. She wanted them to be friends like they use to be and she really loved Christina Perri, but she didn’t know how Stefan would feel about her hanging out with her ex. Mandie knew she didn’t really have time to think all of this through, she needed to get Anne out of here and safely to her grandmothers. “Ummmm yeah sure I’d love to go just text me the details. Sorry to rush out of here but I don’t want Anne puking in my car.” Mandie felt bad for lying to him but she knew if she told him the truth he would wanna help, keep them safe and she didn’t want to put him in danger as well.

"ok, i will text you the details later today... i hope anne feels better soon... soup and pepto bismol should be good if she is nauseous... let me know if you need anythig. i will be glad to make a drug store run for you anytime you need." he took her hand and held it for a moment and smiled at her... Deklan was walking out of the building when he saw mandie and anne walking to her car… he figured this was as good a time as any to get back in the game. he ran over to them “Hey red! wait up… i have something to ask you.” he kept getting closer hoping mandie would hear him and turn around.

Mandie was in a hurry to get Anne and herself to her grandmothers house. She heard a familiar voice and knew as soon as she heard ‘red’ it was Deklan. She tried to put her fake everything is perfectly peachy face and turned toward where his voice was coming from. She handed her keys back to Anne so she could go get in the car. Mandie met Deklan halfway. “Hey hun I’m kind of in a hurry Anne……… isn’t feeling well, what’s up?” Mandie looked into his beautiful blue eyes, wanting to talk him but knowing they needed to get some where safe quickly.

i took a few days off of school after the full moon to recuperate... and kinda laid low at school till the animal attack thing blew over... i haven't seen McKenna in a wile either... I'm really worried bout her...

i also realized that i haven't talked to mandie since the party either... but i remember overhearing her being excited about this concert coming up... its christina Perry or something like that... i asked my sister about it and she helped me buy the tickets. when the time is right i'm going to ask mandie to go with me... its like the observatory all over again... how does she do this to me... how does she make me feel like this... like a little kid with butterflies in my stomach.

Mandie feeling a bit dizzy and confused by Stefan’s mad dash in and out, she grabbed her purse and Anne’s hand. She turned to look at Anne. “So I think we should go get some of our stuff and maybe stay at my grandma’s for a bit. We can’t stay at my house cause I stupidly trusted and invited Damon in to my house. And I don’t think it’s safe for you at Serenity’s since vamps can just come and go there. I’ll call my dad and see if he can fix our house but till then we can stay at my grandma’s since none of the vampires have been invited in there.”

Anne, still holding mandie’s hand could do nothing but nod. she agreed that she would only be safe at grandmas house… but it wasn’t just her she was worried about. she worried about matt and josh too, and Josie, and everyone she knew… who knows what damon would do now… and stefan was serious about how bad this was… it scared anne to see him that way… to see him that scared of what damon might do.

“fun.” he said with a chuckle… he hadn’t herd it referred to as fun since he left the pack in the north… they actually had fun with it up there… they didn’t have to suppress it or fight it. they just let themselves go wild. they shifted so often and so freely up there that shifting had become almost painless.

deklan knew he was the bottom rung on the pack ladder so he just fallowed hayley without any fight. he didn’t want to say to much either because he still wasn’t quite sure where he stood with her. when she was around he kinda always felt like more of a chew toy than anything… but truly he didn’t mind. “you can drag me anywhere your heart desires my little vixen.” he said hoping she wouldn’t get mad. but in that red cloak she did remind him of a fox…

Hayley laughed at his comment about her being a fox. She had always liked the little creatures personally and she kept her head turned into the cloak, her cheeks flushing lightly at the compliment. It had been a long time since someone had said anything…almost sweet to her. She glanced back at him and slid so they were walking side by side so she could talk to him easier. “You, my dear, have just earned yourself major bonus points…” She said, still teasing lightly to try to hide her blush. She was looking around for her geeky wolf friend as they walked. “Daniel is dressed like a football player…he looks very out of place in the costume though.” She said with a grin, “If you spot him, let me know.”

Daniel raised a brow seeing Hayley and Deklan together. “Got my message? Great.” He have learned to accepted his fate as some kind of tragic hero, the guy with the troubled past that gave him a creepy fan girl gamer base. Only instead of death and destruction, he turned into a wolf.

"i dont think we have long at all... this house has a srange feeling to it, like it's hard to keep my mind focused." he looked around "have you seen tyler? i really think we should pack up and head off to whatever safe place you have set up." he had a worried look on his face. he felt claustrophobic  being this close to civilization on a full moon. but he trusted tyler, he trusted the pack.

deklan was feeling kinda brazen at the moment. he could hear mandie’s phone go off and as she turned to retrieve it he quickly wrapped his arms around her and retrieved it for her, being careful not to touch to much skin. he knew this was a risky move on his part but there was something about this house that made him more bold than he would be anywhere else.

“relationships aren’t easy… and if he’s going to hate you over one fight, especially with everything that is going on in your life right now… maybe he doesn’t love you as much as you love him.” he handed her the phone and braced himself for the slap.

Mandie stood in awe at his nerve to reach in her dress and get out her phone. “Hey excuse you I don’t care how cute you are sir hands off the merchandise.” Mandie tried to laugh it off as a joke. But her heart raced as he almost touched her bare skin. She reached for the phone and grabbed it rolling her eyes as he talked about Stefan. “It’s a little more complicated then that.” Mandie looked at her phone as she read her text message from Mel who she thought by now should be down stairs, her heart sank in her chest. Flashes of her sister and Stefan hurt ran through her head. “Oh my god no!!!”  She didn’t know if Deklan knew about Stefan yet, he and Damon knew about Deklan but she wasn’t sure if Deklan knew about Stefan and Damon. She tried to think of what to say. She kissed Deklan’s cheek. “Look I gotta go my sister needs me right now. But text me tomorrow and we can go get coffee and talk more.” As she headed out the door she stopped. “Deklan even though I’m confused about you being back I really am glad you back and you look really hott in your costume.” Mandie gave him a smile hoping her wouldn’t ask anymore questions and think maybe it was just a sister thing. She ran down the stairs with panic on her face, to find Damon and tell him what was going on.

deklan was really confused about what was going on but from the way mandie was acting he knew something was up that mandie coulden't talk about so he let it go and would ask her about it tomorrow. "i hope everything's ok" he said as mandie kissed his cheek he watched as mandie walked to the door and when she said he was hot he puffed up his chest a bit "you look really hot no matter what you wear" he put on his hat and did his best impression of a police officer. "you drive safe now, and if you need anything don't hesitate to call..." he tipped his hat to her and watched her walk out the door. he left himself a few moments later to see if he could find tyler.

the fresh air felt nice on his skin. the air was sweet and as soon as he stepped outside he felt a weight lifted from him. “it feels good to be outside… there is something strange about that house don’t you think?” he looked up at the sky and realized that it was getting kinda late… a little to late actually. he needed to find tyler and hayley fast so he could figure out where to go tonight. “i kinda get the feeling you really don’t wanna leave yet… but i really do have to go, unfortunately i have no choice in the matter.” he felt bad making her leave, but he didn’t feel good leaving here there either. he promised to get her home safe to her little girl. he was torn… and it was written all over his face.

“Oh gosh, I needed this,” she said taking a deep breath of fresh air, ” I was starting to smother in there.  So many people, dancing like crazy, and you ofcourse.  I’m glad you invited me.  Yea, I just feel like sitting out here for a little bit,  I understand if you have to go.”

She watched as Haley grabbed him seductively from her, and kinda rolled her eyes just a little bit- she couldn’t help it.  A part of her wanted him.

“Hope you have a good night,” she hollered after him.

"you too!" he hollered back at her "make sure to text me when you get home safe or i'm going to worry about you all night." he wished he could explain things to mckenna... this hole thing must look really bad. first running off with mandie and now leaving with hayley... he laughed to himself i'm such a man whore tonight... but all he could think about was the full moon. he didn't want to admit it but he was getting kinda nervous about it now.

as deklan listend to her talk it was like watching a flower bloom, she was finally opening up to him again and telling him the truth. he tried to wipe away her tears as he said

“i didn’t fall in love with you because you’re just fun, i fell in love with you because you’re dynamic.” he looked deep into her eyes ” life isn’t a perfectly flat paved road, it has potholes and obstacles we have to navigate around. and just because you tripped and fell in one of the potholes doesn’t mean you cant get back up and keep walking, you just need someone to help you get there… your not broken mandie… your just hurt, and scared the next pothole is going to hurt to. but you can’t stop walking for fear of the potholes, because you’ll miss all the beautiful things along the way.” he looked down for a moment remembering his mom “i was stuck in the same pothole your in when we first met. my mom was gone because someone took her away from me, and i felt like i couldn’t trust anyone anymore. then you reached out a hand to me and showed me that there’s still hope in the world… still beauty… all i had to do was look for it… you pulled me back up once… and now its my turn.” he held out his hand to her and smiled at her waiting for her to take it “and you can yell at me any time you want, as long as it’s because you love me.”

Mandie smiled at him. “Deklan I don’t know how I feel I mean part of me still loves you very much, But I have also fallen in love with Stefan.” Mandie put her head down. “Even though I’ve messed that up now. We got into a big fight and I’m pretty sure he hates me now.” Mandie tried to not start crying again as she thought about Stefan and how she may never see him, kiss him, or be in his arms again. Mandie looked up at Deklan. “Your so sweet and kind and everything I have dreamed of my whole life, I’ve loved you since I was like 10, I just don’t know what kind of love it is anymore.” Mandie felt her phone going off inside her bra. Hayley smiled back at him, squeezing his hand gently. “We never got that dance a while back but tonight we have more…fun things to do.” she said, the damn house still affecting her. It plus the alcohol was making her chatty and she kept a hold of his hand but didn’t pull so hard so he was closer to her as they walked. “Let’s find Daniel…” She said, to keep from sharing more than she wanted to. She glanced back at him with another smile. She knew Tyler had told him about coming with them that night and thought she would send him her own invite just because. “I hope you don’t mind me dragging you off…it’s getting a little late and we are well…stocked…” She said, trying to stay vague but not too vague when referring to their safe place.

deklan wasn’t as good of a dancer as mckenna but he held his own dancing with her for a couple songs. “you know its getting kinda late… i hate to be a party pooper but i have to go soon. are you gonna be ready to go too my cinderella?” he just rememberd she had said she needed to be home by midnight and wished he had made the cinderella comment earlier… but she was smart… he figured she would get it… even if she was drunk.

She was having a good time watching Deklan try so hard to keep up with her.  But she was having such a good time with it.  Hot and sweaty, she didn’t wanna stop dancing- but needed some air.

“Ya, it is getting late.  I think I’ve almost danced off all my alcohol anway.” she said following him hand in hand out to the porch.

Hayley sighed as she continued to look for her alpha. She had stopped drinking when she got Daniel’s email. She didn’t want to be too impaired when they changed tonight, even though she still thought the alcohol helped with the pain. She growled softly under her breath as she continued looking, not even glancing at some of the frat boys that tried to cop a feel when she passed by in the very short fluffy dress.

She seemed to be having trouble locating all of the pack and was about to text them when her eyes caught Deklan moving through the crowd. She smiled lupinely as she headed his direction, pulling her hood up for good effect. She bumped into him enough to get his attention and winked at him. “Come with me sweetheart…we need to…talk.” she said soft enough that he could still hear but others around them might have trouble. She winked at him as she took his hand, not forcing him exactly but not letting him go.

  deklan walked downstairs to see mckenna tearing up the dance floor. wow… she can really let loose when she drinks… better go make sure she is ok. he made his way down to her and came right up behind her and started dancing with her. as she noticed him he whispered in her ear “you doin’ ok? you look like your having one hell of a time. care if i join you for a bit?” he took a step back to let her turn around a face him if she wanted.

She felt body heat rising up against her and she stuck her ass out a little more to grind into him.  As soon as she did, she immediately smiled at what he was packing.

As he walked around to face her, she knew she was carrying a huge smile and probably red cheeks.  But she finally didn’t care, “Hell yeah, dance with me sexy,” she said grabbing his hips and dropping it low.  She loved to dance, and this was an area she could really show off at.  But as she looked into his eyes she saw him looking up the stairs at someone else.  That redhead, Mandie.  What does everyone see in that girl.. As mandie dragged him up stairs he couldn’t help but stair at her ass… that dress was so tight, and it moved so perfectly as she took each step ahhh! i need to stop staring at her ass!… he thought to himself… you know what… i bet she went first on perpos, just to get me worked up… god she knows me to well… when they finally entered the room he noticed that it was a bed room. i can’t believe she led me here… god i wish i could just rip off that dress and take her right here… but i guess nights in shining armor don’t do that do they… damn why do i have to be a good guy at times like this. he started mentally punching himself in the face, and then her herd mandie start to talk… she was spitting out the words so fast she tripped over a few, and one in particular that he was glad to hear.

deklan took a second to take in everything she said and took in a deep breath. he walked over to the bed and sat down next to her with his hands interlocked in his lap, and his head hung low. “look… you don’t have to apologize. i had a very similar reaction when my dad told me what was going on.” he paused for a moment to collect his thoughts. “i understand it’s a lot to take in all at once but i just couldn’t justify keeping a secret that big from you… because how could i ever expect you to love me again if you don’t know who i am” he looked her in the eyes and took her hand in his. “i love you mandie… you’r my best friend… you’r my first and my only… you are the reason my heart keeps beating even after its been broken. and even if you don’t feel that way about me anymore… its ok,” he raised his other hand to her face and cupped her face in his hand, caressing her cheek “because i know you did once. so really i should be asking for your forgiveness. i’m the one who messed up, not you… so do you think you could forgive me?… could i have just one more chance to make it right?” he looked at her with pleading eyes… he wanted nothing more than to have her back in his life again… to have his best friend again. but he knew she was hurting deep down, from more than him breaking her heart, and he wasn’t sure she was able to forgive him yet… but he hoped.

Stefan and Damon didn’t wanna be with her why would Deklan. It would only be a matter of time before he didn’t want her too.
