One Piece Colour Spreads

Posting title spreads, comic page spreads and full page images from Eiichiro Oda's One Piece, presented in glorious full colour thanks to Shueisha's digital colouring team. Just to be clear, I don't own anything here. The full colour version of One Piece was released as a digital exclusive in Japan and is unlikely to ever make it to the west, I'm just sharing a bit of it for the people who might not ever see it otherwise.

One Piece colour spreads volume 40 part 1

As volume 40 gets underway the gatekeepers of Enies Lobby make life difficult for the Strawhats' allies until reinforcements arrive in the form of a train in the back. Meanwhile Luffy fights his way through ten thousand soldiers and in a title spread Nami demonstrates perhaps her most bullshit proportions yet. Seriously, what the hell?

Okay I really left off updating this blog for a while, but I would like to get back into it. So for the sake of my sanity we're going to be doing this in volume blocks. This set takes us to the end of volume 39, and move onto part 1 of volume 40 tomorrow night.

I'm thinking after I get through all the spreads presently coloured I'll make this into a more general One Piece blog in which I feel I can post more freely.

Meanwhile, this last spread here is one of my favourite parts of the series.

Water Seven really is one of my favourite One Piece locations. Look at that architecture, those cool as locals, those terrifying tsunamis. Truly a paradise.

A giraffe on the cover? Why would that be there, there are no giraffes in this story!
