Uncertainty. It was an emotion that continuously swept over her,
day after day. Even after everything had been done, the
announcement, the wait, and even the ceremony; she still felt so
unsure of everything. Clueless. Eyes are focused forward,
legs folded underneath her as hands keep themselves pressed
against her legs.
But, she couldn’t help but take a glance to her side. Then up.
Something told her to speak up, but her mouth felt like cotton.
And words couldn’t come even if she wanted to say anything.
Lips part just slightly as she inhales softly, then exhales. Anything
could happen at this point. ANYTHING. He could treat her horribly.
Kill her. Make her some… Servant. Then again, the total opposite
could be a possibility. Still, she couldn’t hope too much.
All her life, she had been taught to fear this exact being. Eyes
glance down at darkened hands, stained and scarred. Devoted
out of necessity, always in awe because of what she had been told
he had done.
But now?
Being this close to HIM.
She couldn’t be any more confused. He sure looked like how she
imagined, considering old paintings, recent pictures, and whatnot.
But his demeanor seemed to ultimately change once out of the sight
of many stares. Lips purse just a bit as she tries to take it in, and
situates herself more comfortably before sitting up more straight.
This robe’s bindings were beginning to take its toll on her….
the silence is deafening even for him. he’s usually accustomed to such tranquility but not like this. not when he felt her presence oozing with uncertainty, radiating with hesitation. the act would have been laughable if her silence isn’t as powerful as it is. he would rather grasp at boredom than this.
her stare certainly did not go unnoticed. where others trembled until he snuffed the light out of them, this woman that sat beneath him sat too still. those unfortunate to be chosen as tribunal sacrifices rarely lasted being silent and unmoving unless they were dead. there were often tears, and the humorous display of a soul descending to insanity. but this one? no. just uncertain. very much so that her suspicion proved to be rather over powering, hiding any fear she felt. that much he could sense.
❛ yes, bask in the glory that is aku. but you needn’t waste your time being uncertain, as i will not hesitate to destroy you should the chance arise for one such as yourself to betray your master. but i also see no point in killing you right now either. ❜ admittedly, he is interested.
not in the marriage, but the potential partnership. this woman is still human, and he knew how humans were. fickle things they are. naive, mostly. desperate to live. which is probably why a population of them were eager to sacrifice one of their own in exchange to live. what’s one more soul to offer to the devil when you’ll be saving plenty ? how clever. if he cared.
❛ i suppose you can say that i am quite bored, but you have piqued my curiosity. i can feel you experiencing some uncertainty. but your fear eludes me. i ask you woman, do you fear death ? ❜
