1. the character everyone gets wrong

I previously answered with Obi-Wan, so I need to pick another one. I think Yoda is often misunderstood and misinterpreted as this rigid, unbendable Jedi Master without any human feelings. I just keep thinking about that scene from ROTS when Anakin goes to Yoda for advice about fear of losing his loved ones and Yoda tells him to rejoice, because they joined the Force... And that Anakin just killed Dooku and Yoda's probably the only one grieving him. Yeah, it was a bad advice for Anakin's specific situation, but that's what Yoda had at the moment from his own experience and he didn't even know the full context of Anakin's problems. I just think Yoda has a lot of feelings, but he's capable of mastering them (most of the time).

I have mixed feelings about Stargate cancellation by Amazon. On one hand I would love to watch a new series, on the other hand I have zero confidence in Amazon's ability to make a good show with new scifi ideas to explore. Besides the show would have gotten quickly cancelled anyway, so maybe not starting it was a good call.

Something I find interesting about the EU fandom is that most popular stories that are prefer by the fandom are side stories, spin-offs that sometimes have nothing to do with the main characters. Like take the X-Wing series, the Republic Commando series, Knights of the Old Republic I and II, The Old Republic MMO heck the entire Old Republic era is basically a spin-off.

And when you look at the stories involving the main characters is The Thrawn Trilogy and The Clone Wars Filoni show if you include it as legends.

It’s not exactly the best way to analyze it but when you see the amount of fics each stories has in AO3 you realize how the fandom invests in that particular story. Like the biggest EU stories in regards to the amount of fics are The Old Republic MMO by far (people like having OCs huh), The Thrawn Trilogy (I know it’s probably mainly because of Thrawn nowadays but Mara was the face of the EU for a reason), the X-Wing series (Wedge is popular for a reason), the Republic Commando series (people love clones and mandos) and surprisingly the Jedi Apprentice series (although it is not that surprising if you think about how much people want the adventures of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and how popular their characters are).

It also kinda shows that the adventures of the OT gang are usually the less popular ones sadly.

The Thrawn Trilogy is a Big Three adventure. OT fics are extremely popular too. It's all a matter of perspective. I'm glad SW is big enough to contain so many stories with different characters. Everyone can find their own niche and have fun :)
