The Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival is not a tiny one. Only two and a half hours away from Tokyo, the festival reportedly draws a million people during its month long run. Unlike its delicate March cousins, Kawazu sakura are not only the earliest blooming variety near to Tokyo, but the flowers bloom for a month in a vibrant pink that is brighter than the common whitish pink sakura variety.
