god. the two of them. the way you always do. i think i forget sometimes just like. how dangerous iwaizumi can be. it's so good. the two of them. power duo of the century.
"What did you tell them?!" You snapped at him. "Don't play dumb with me," you crossed your arms over your chest while your furious hues glared at his pretty visage. "You know exactly what I'm talking about, Tooru,"
"No I don't," Tooru's expression soon turned into one of bewilderment. It would've felt genuine if you didn't know about how good he was at lying.
The moon hung high over your heads, and the rain threatened to hurt your eardrums with how hard it pounded against the tin roof of the bus stop. You asked him to join you, at the same bus stop you met him at before you started attending school together. You hoped the scenery would invoke a sense of guilt in him, but it seemed like nothing about him, or the situation, had changed. He still put on this act!
"I didn't tell anyone anything, [Y/N], what's gotten into you?" Tooru's suave tone threatened to shatter your reality, it was sickening how he tried to play everything off, but all signs pointed to him. It was him who told the school that vicious lie that ruined your reputation, and that was exactly why you were going to force the truth out of him!
"..." you narrowed your eyes. "You know what? This is a waste of my time. I'm leaving. I should've known better than to think you were man enough to tell it to me straight." You growled and stood up from the bench. "Goodbye, Tooru."
A soft chuckle erupted from Tooru's lips. You turned to look at him, how you wanted to wrench him up into the sky by his collar and throw him into the street! How dare he laugh at you?!
"You want the rumors to stop, don't you?"
You forced a laugh from your own lips and placed your hands on your hips. "And just how the hell do you think you're going to manage to end these rumors, hmm, if you're not the one who started them?" You hissed.
"Just stop talking to Kiyoomi—you know that's the reason why everyone's talking about you, right? He's bad for you. I tried telling you this..." Tooru raised his hands in defense. "It's cute, seeing you get all mad and stuff, but definitely not when it's directed at me. We're bestfriends, aren't we?"
"Hardly," you scornfully stated, though you hardly meant that. Well—maybe you did mean it, but only because of what'd been recently going on. "I know you're the reason why these rumors are even circulating around the school. You made all of that shit up, and for what!" You yelled at him again, making him wince before letting out a drawn-out sigh. "Listen, [Y/N], it wasn't me," he breathed as he stood up. He walked up to you, making you take two steps back, even if the move landed you in the rain. "Please don't be like this. I'm trying to help you, okay?"
"You're not helping me do shit. And me talking to Kiyoomi has nothing to do with anyone at that school." You rolled your eyes. It wasn't even a romantic type of talking, either. . . he just kind of brushed off everything except for talk about volleyball games with other schools. Not that anyone at your school knew that; they were too busy indulging in the lies spread about you.
Tooru grabbed your wrist and pulled you taut to his chest, making you alarmedly squeak. You felt frozen . . . it was a gesture he'd never performed before on you. "[Y/N]," He called to you. His coffee-colored eyes stared down at you, freezing you with their gaze, rendering you speechless while the air around you seemed to freeze. "Just listen to me when I tell you this; if you choose to leave me, then do it, but not before I tell you to stop talking to Kiyoomi. I'm begging you at this point; he's no good for you. . . I know you well enough to know that you wouldn't be happy with him anyway,"
"It wasn't like that and it was never like that from the beginning! That's what you all have fucked up, and even if I wanted to date Kiyoomi, I wouldn't," you rolled your eyes and put your hands on his chest to increase the distance between the two of you. "This is ridiculous, Tooru, I'm tired of you and your lies. I'm going home."
"Don't leave me." His grip on you tightened. "You don't want to go back to a life of being lonely, do you [Y/N]? You wouldn't throw away everything we had to the side like that,"
". . ." you narrowed your eyes. "We weren't even together in the first place, Tooru, I don't know why you're talking like this."
"But we've always been together," Tooru replied in a hastily manner, "since the beginning, you and I have always had something that bound us together."
"No!" You hissed through your teeth, "we've never been together! You and I have been friends, and just friends! Nothing more!"
