K-pop idols are real people.

All your idols, male or female, the people you spend hours watching over the internet. THEY ARE REAL PEOPLE. Real humans, with very real lives, who have their own problems. And don’t go ‘they have money and wealth’ – money and wealth doesn’t stop your brain from being depressed. It doesn’t work like that. Holding them to such high standards that you don’t even hold yourself up to is so stupid. All these fan wars, the fights and hate brought out by idols dating, the violence spewed in the comment section of Instagram’s and twitters and whatnot. There are real life people reading those comments. It affects them. You can’t say ‘they should’ve been stronger’ no that’s not how it works. The people writing those comments shouldn’t be assholes. Comparing the successes between groups – looking at sales, awards and using that to measure someone’s worth. STOP. Peoples worth aren’t dependent on numbers and statistics. You don’t know what is happening in their personal lives okay? So, let’s not spill additional hate onto them cause you never know when someone is close to their breaking point. Till they feel too much that they stop feeling at all, become numb and end it.

And stop decimating idols who have mental illnesses. They are people. Most of them are young teenagers. They deserve respect and kindness and understanding and compassion. JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I hope from now on entertainment companies priorities routine mental health checks for their idols and provide safe spaces for them where they can be themselves. And I hope the k-pop industry/fandom is filled with more love and less hate and judgement.
