Overall, the course on developing research and investigation skills has improved my learning outcomes in a number of ways. Students first learned about finding and researching trustworthy data while attempting to construct a story. We watched various instructional videos on using internet research to give stories context and relevance, as well as videos on discovering different sorts of online information sources. Which ultimately resulted in students doing their initial interviews for their articles. We discovered that interviews don't need to involve face-to-face interaction; instead, they might involve more distant forms of communication, such as email or online discussions on social media, as long as the material is reliable.
Week 3 started out with video lectures on how to discover interviews, determine their credibility, and grasp the traits of reliable sources. We also taught how to recognize unfairness and source intentions and how they affect the story.
What I liked best about the class was learning about the history of my hometown, East St Louis, and discussing race riots in the 1917s, which I didn't know about before starting the research and investigations class, which was useful in my daily life. I also liked making the infographic and being able to express myself creatively.
I'm prepared for the next course in this class. I can honestly say that this month has taught me a slew of research and investigation techniques that I'm confident will come in handy as I progress toward mastery. I'm delighted to be a part of it. This course has taken me down memory lane. I enjoy law and learning about the various parts of it. I aim to use these skills I've learned on my path to mastery. I'd like to thank my teacher and classmates for their assistance along the road.
