now why did they drag paul into it
probably the last thing i'm gonna say about tvl and i need to preface this by saying i have not read the vampire chronicles nor do i intend to. but why did a show that used to pride itself in it's moral ambiguity, a show that explored the complexity of life (and death) by laying out characters that are not good or bad but flawed and convoluted, characters that you can love and hate at the same time, put Claudia IN HELL. IN PURGATORY. and something that reminisces Christian hell at that. "well ofc Claudia is in hell, she used to enjoy killing and torturing people!" but she was not people, she was a vampire. the show made it clear to us throughout it's first season, that rejecting your vampiric nature (what louis did) was not something to be proud of and that is in fact detrimental to the vampire in question. would a cat go to hell for playing with mice before killing it? and if all vampires go to hell, then why not put Madelaine with her in there too, why is claudia the only one suffering? why are they killing her again and again? why would they not let her rest? why is Madelaine not there? was Madelaine somehow more of a "worthy" vampire, why?
people focusing on the writers feeding them with “transfem lestat” while ignoring the vehement antiblackness they're putting the black gay man through kinda perfectly encapsulates the priorities of white queer fandom
truly the way this season has made me feel like a clown like sorry i enjoyed the tv show you wrote thats on me my fucking bad glad ur just dancing around stamping on everything i found interesting and mocking me for liking it ok like truly what the FUCK happened in these two years
that finale was shit. this show is ran by white supremacists. armand brands louis like he’s a fucking slave and carves an A in his chest. armand tortures louis’ dying body while lestat’s body is left alone. louis gets a painful victim-blaming apology forced outta him through torture and lestat gets a hallucination dinner. regina was used as a pawn by armand to torture louis with claudia’s face and lead him to breaking down. regina is forced to slit her wrists and watch a man slit his throat while shes tied to a chair across louis’ decapitated head. but armand is given a heartfelt apology from the black person he’s actively torturing and killing. oh and also lou’s torture is broadcasted and livedtreamed in a dark web snuffporn chatroom for random people to watch. how is this not the trial all over again??? armand’s “i took aesthetic pleasure in making your death visually exhilarating.” (an actual line from the show referencing why armand lynched louclaudia) all over again. this season and episode is horrifically racist. idk how i ever thought this show cared about black people.
Interview with the Vampire + Costumes
Claudia's yellow, grey & red shirt and brown, red & green vest with black, blue & green pants in Season 02, Episode 06.

I want you more than anything in the world
Episode 6 killed me emotionally so here’s Claudeleine happy ending yay
claudia always hated louis which is why she came back home after seeing grace abandoning him. claudia always hated louis whis is why she spent years with him helping him recover after lestat dropped him from the sky. claudia always hated louis which is why she tried to stop lestat from coming back in their home. claudia always hated louis which is why she worried about his happiness in paris. claudia always hated louis which is why she came back to visit him after she left with madeleine. claudia always hated louis which is why she still tried to defend him during the trial...
and this is supposedly their best writing for her….
Making Claudia into a one dimensional lying angry black woman stereotype when she had a cold righteous rage that simmered through all of her injustice is just so disheartening. Her complex relationship with her parental figures was so nuanced where love, respect, disappointment, and resentment merged into a special highlight of the show. A strange rant where she's inexplicably racist and hateful to Louis over the man she compared to a literal tyrant slave owner feels so off. She has the right to be angry at them both but the implication that Louis was the worst person to her serves nothing other than the writer's agenda to discount the beauty of s1 and 2.
incredibly sorry for the black writers and directors of the previous two seasons who thought they were building something. I am so sorry that your work was not respected and now dismissed by this new season. I am so sorry that the love and care with which you crafted the characters, especially of Louis and Claudia was so resented that the current writers' room chose to dilute all. I am so sorry that you are having to see the anti blackness in full force on a formerly black led show and everything you worked on- your vision- it was all wiped off. I am so sorry to Jacob and Delainey for having to work with those scripts.
does anyone remember the amc show interview with the vampire? one of the greatest things television gave us in its era. heartbreaking that it ended after two seasons when those characters were so beautifully crafted. i really wish we could’ve had more.
whenever there's an evil child character i'm always like well maybe the adults deserve to be killed with hammers have you considered that
not watching tvl ever. gifs from that seance scene make me sick. heartbroken.
No one is using Jacob Anderson RT that tweet to say he tried to shade anyone else but AMC
It’s wild how every time fans dare to mention the blatant disparity in how Jacob Anderson is treated compared to his co-star, the conversation is immediately derailed. ''He loves Sam!'' ''He said it’s Sam’s season!'' ''He wouldn’t retweet something if it was shade!''
Jacob was the lead of this show for two seasons. He was the narrator, the emotional core, the face of the adaptation’s bold reimagining. And yet, now that season 3 is Lestat-centric, Jacob is suddenly missing from all planned press appearances. Just like he was conveniently minimized by this fandom during seasons 1 and 2.
So when Jacob who famously ''isn’t on Twitter'' accidentally retweets a post calling that out, of course it hits a nerve.Because he sees it.And the fans who’ve been defending him from day one? We see it too.
But instead of acknowledging the very real issue of how black actors are discarded the moment they’re no longer ''useful,'' Some of you twist it into a melodrama,''Stop making Jacob vs. Sam a thing!'' ''Jacob wouldn’t giggle at you shading his friend!''
This isn’t about their friendship.
This is about the industry, about AMC who is notorious for their treatment of their actors of color. This is also about a fandom that pretends to love Louis, Armand, Claudia but refuses to stand by their actor ms when it matters. This is about the fact that Jacob Anderson is once again being sidelined by a network that used him to launch their franchise and is now erasing him from the narrative ,just like Louis is constantly erased from his own story.
You know what’s even more telling? The fact that you can’t tell the difference between fans criticizing racism in the Industry and someone attacking your favorite white actor. speaks volumes.
Anyway, I made my peace with this fandom.
Picking claudia from school,,,
