The craziest thing about orufrey's dynamic is the gap of awareness between them about how doomed and tragic they are. Olruggio probably just thinks he's dealing with an emotionally distant and stubbornly reserved person who's dealing with some issues but can get better with time and effort, while Qifrey is constantly experiencing the horrors while burdening himself with the knowledge that he can never have what he wants or get too close to Olruggio because he could lose everything. They're on entirely different levels of doom awareness.

heLLO????? based on these breadcrumbs of alto. i have a small theory that it wasnt him who burned rudos arms. he (rudo) was so young, probably around 3 - 5 years old, when that happened. theres the possibility that what he remembered wasnt what actually happened. maybe someone who hold the watchman book (either regto, tamsy, or a secret third party) manipulated rudos memories after that happened. and alto found out, got angry and confronted the perpetrator but was later framed by the perpetrator and ended up in the ground.

So, did i read into that completely wrong or was Cleo's mom burned at the stake?

The flashback when Owen's talking about Louis, the letter at the start... I feel like Cleo at least lost someone she cares about to a pire. Whether that was their mom or someone else i dont this is possible to say yet, but definitely someone.

That would also explain why she's been so against panic and aggression since the start, since she would have seen where that path leads.

The question is whether the anger in their voice when she talks about bystanders is directed at themself or the people who they watched stand by while their loved one burned.

It says something about the episode quality this week that this has barely been talked about as far as i have seen, cause Cleo's pov this week was amazing.

putting my two cents into the metaphor discourse and that is that it's kind of pointless. to me vampirism takes the hold of a different metaphor depending on which character you take. like that's the fun of metaphors i think? they don't need to perfectly line up with every aspect to Be A Metaphor. you can have several of them at the same time. it's literally applying concepts to other concepts. i think we should be applying the "idk man i think it depends" a lot more often because yes, it's good to know when a metaphor you're applying perpetuates a stereotype, but it's also worth knowing that every metaphor is not linear, you can literally play around with it and mix it with other metaphors and change the metaphor depending on which character and!!!!!!!! you're not a horrible person if you like one metaphor's interpretation of the characters!!!!!!!
