it honestly feels very transmisogynistic by itself the way that blogs talking about or focused on transmisogyny are treated with inherent suspicion of being transandrophobic. like there is a transandrophobia problem within the entire trans community but there is also a transmisogyny problem with the entire trans community. a blog focusing on one or the other isn't inherently bigoted towards "the inverse."
I wish we could talk about intercommunity bigotry without it being seen as an attack on the entire demographic. /Some/ trans men are transmisogynistic, including when talking about transandrophobia. /Some/ trans women are transandrophobic, including when talking about transmisogyny.
That doesn't mean all trans women are transandrophobic or all trans men are transmisogynistic, nor does it mean that discussions revolving around intercommunity transandrophobia/transmisogyny shouldn't be happening, I guess? And someone talking about transmisogyny also being transandrophobic shouldn't be taken as proof that all people talking about transmisogyny are transandrophobic, and someone talking about transandrophobia while also being transmisogynistic shouldn't be taken as proof all people talking about transandrophobia are transmisogynistic.
I wish I could talk about how someone is being transmisogynistic/transandrophobic without that being taken as their stance is wrong in its entirety. But talking about transmisogyny in the transmasc community gets taken as "trans men are all transmisogynistic and I don't think transandrophobia is real" and talking about transandrophobia within the transfem community gets taken as "trans women are all transandrophobic and I don't think transmisogyny is real."
I hate how these discussions have become an us vs them/two sides mentality.
Seriously, all of this!! I'm so frustrated with all the people sending me asks that are a barely disguised "I am surprised a trans woman isn't transandrophobic" who somehow think they aren't being transmisogynistic by generalizing us.
