This was not Tony Stark. There was no way such a man as he would bow willingly to such authority. She kept looking at his eyes, they were no longer vibrant. There had always been a particular spark in the Billionaire’s gaze, usually it meant trouble was afoot in his head, but there was not even a trace of that. There was nothing there at all. It was alarming.
And nothing about Tony Stark had ever been weak.
She found the display telling however, as though there was something about her fallen friend Ra wanted her to see, to notice and so she let her sharp gaze pass over him and came to a pause at his neck, the back of it so easily displayed where lay a scar. One she knew had not existed prior.
She made no comment concerning it however, feeling that might be the source, the reason for the bowed head.
She advanced forward then, eyes dark and anger fueling her. She tried to keep some control over it knowing it could make one sloppy and she didn’t need that, but all the same he wanted to make Ra suffer greatly.
“What did you do to him?”
One hand shot up, fingers closing around the front of Ra’s ornate clothing, gripping it tightly, yanking him closer so their gazes met.
“Tell. Me. Now.” Whatever it was, she would find a way to reverse it.
He had expected her IRE, his barbed words bait aimed to mock and to HURT, yet the strength in her grip still surprised him. His Jaffa advanced as he was jerked forward, Tony immediately bolting to his feet. Multiple staff weapons levelled at Romanoff’s throat, though Ra flashed his soldiers a warning look. He had wanted this, to see her fire, the SPIRIT he could glimpse so carefully locked behind the shield of her eyes. He had never taken a Queen who’s host had not pleased him -- what fun was there to be had with a lamb when a WOLF was so much more exciting?
“ In time, I will SHOW you. ”
His hand reached up to snatch hers at the wrist, holding her in place with an unnatural strength gained from the symbiotic nature of his species.
“ You will not DEMAND anything of me. If you so desire knowledge, you must earn it. ”
He could not allow her to get so close again -- as amusing as it was to incite her, Ra was not foolish enough to underestimate her entirely. She would be closely monitored until her Goa’uld was implanted, especially during times of rest or recuperation.
Turning his back -- pointedly, as much a DARE as it was a clear snub -- Ra moved to the wide balcony overlooking the ruins of New York City. Even now it teemed with life, his armies keeping the general population in check. Helicopters hovered a short distance away, no doubt SHIELD agents waiting for any signal from Romanoff. His ship’s defences would stop any Earth missile, weapons of his own primed and ready to fire.
“ Your skill in combat -- where were you taught? ”
