The Rotary Reading Garden at the St Marys Public Library was opened on May 29, 2007. It includes a walkway, plants, trees, benches and chessboards. St. Marys Rotary Club began planning the garden in 2005 to mark the 80th anniversary of the club and the 100th anniversaries of their international organization and the library’s opening. The garden is maintained by the town.
HMCS Ojibwa was originally intended for service with the Royal Navy as HMS Onyx, the submarine was transferred to Canadian ownership before completion, and entered Royal Canadian Navy service in 1965. The submarine was towed to Port Burwell, Ontario, where she is the new focal point of a planned Museum of Naval History.
