I like the dynamic of a strong woman×strong but broken man and these two fit perfectly here

Arcana's love language is genocide, Phainon's one is "okay I have nothing to lose anyway, let's call it the stigma plan"

As far as I know, one person can't be in two timelines at the same time, right? After the tragedy with his family and friends, arcanist Phainon would most likely just return to the «good» timeline all the time, where so far everything is fine

I think he could join Manus Vindictae just to change the past, that's a pretty simple but canonical motivation

For the past couple of days, I've been tormented by the thought of Phainon (or rather the Flame Reaver) in r1999 AU

I think in the r1999 au Phainon could have had a reason to join them even if he would not approve of their actions as in the original story

I'm too lazy to think now, I just find his image in Manus damn hot

I don't know why, but every time I think of Flins, I think he smells like incense. Christians (catholics and orthodox for sure, but not sure about others sry) use frankincense in funeral rites.

Kyryll belongs to the ancient aristocracy of Snezhnaya. He probably honors traditions, it was clear even from the quest? I like to headcanon that a slight smell of incense emanates from him all the time, as if from a church.

Flins gives Lauma a bouquet of cornflowers on their first date because these flowers are associated with pure and bright people who understand the beauty and sacredness of nature

As you know, animals are afraid of Flins because of his lantern, and Lauma of course knows this. But!

Crows are absolutely fearless and crazy creatures, so Lauma gives one to Kyryll while it was a chick.

At first, Flins doesn't understand what to do with 'this crow child of god Lauma where did you even find a crow on Hisi Island???' But then he doesn't notice how he begins to take care of the crow chick.

In the morning, they have breakfast together, in the afternoon they patrol the area together, and at night, Flins covers the baby crow with a small handkerchief so that it doesn't freeze - nights in the cemetery are quite cold.

Lauma visits them from time to time, or they come to her when she is too busy. Crow caresses her like a cat and whispers all the latest gossip in her ear, and then returns to Flins' shoulder with a proud look.

They're so good baby crow parents ahh.

I am warmed by the thought that every time Flins passes through Hisi Island, Lauma treats him to food, maybe even her special dish. I also like to think of Lauma calling him by his name and patronymic as a sign of deep respect for him and his work.

Flins is a gallant gentleman, so he calls Lauma by her title. Their mutual respect for each other is not just a formality, but sincere feelings.

Flins and Lauma give off the vibe of aristocratic spouses who have intelligent conversations in the evenings and respect each other boundlessly.

They don't have a passionate and bright love, but they definitely have a very deep connection with each other, so deep that they can't imagine life without each other.

They look very tender together, but at the same time strong in the sense that together they can solve anything.

Now I know everything about Scara in your Canon Divergent AU... except for the most important part: how does SethoScara play out in these circumstances? Share your wisdom with us.🙏

When it comes to my Divergent Universe, where Scara is basically adopted by Tighnari/4ggravate instead of Nahida (for context to those who may be new 👀), the events of Cyno's tomfoolery with the Temple of Silence basically play out the same way, except Scaramouche may have been chillin' in Inazuma, because he's started doing research into Tatarasuna (which i THINK was actually canon after he joins the Akademia???), so he's not in Sumeru at the time of these events.

(Sad, I know, but i like keeping DU's as clean as possible!)

Funnily, this part is a LITTLE ironic because - since he's been hanging around (specifically) Tighnari and Alhaitham so much, what with how almost anti-Akademia they are - he never ends up enrolling. Instead, he does freelance research in which he corrects the wrongful dictation of history in Inazuma in Sumeran literature because it irks him how much is wrong, and he wants to expose the truth. He also ends up starting w/ Tatarasuna as a form of ritual to heal from the past and reflect on his life and decisions...

(But! I digress.)

So he's absent while Cyno is having a mid-life crisis 🤷‍♀️

When he gets back, he makes commentary on how they all look a little closer to Hell, and the tired foursome explain a little about what happened. They don't necessarily mention Sethos by name, however, because he - himself - has stated that he'd like to get acquainted with Sumeru in his own way, and The Temple of Silence is literally a big secret archive, so anonymity is preferred. Scara listens to their BS and is like, "Okay, cool. Whatever." And fucks off to do work.

This is when canon occurrences happen and the two happen to meet in the city, Scara sitting up in a tree, Sethos being a "busy little bee", and Sethos legitimately falls in love with him at first sight. He tries to calm himself down, psyches himself up! And then he approaches by mentioning his hat, which Scaramouche is not pleased with. He wants to be left alone, but he doesnt really chase him away, either. He ends up leaving after a short conversation, and - as time progresses - it is stated IN CANON that they both learn to recognize how neither is as they say they are: Sethos picking up on the fact that Scaramouche is more than just "some hat guy" and he's actually probably pretty powerful, while Scaramouche can sense that Sethos is far more important than just "some delivery guy". [Again: This is canon!]

After that, however, is where my own fun starts up again, and when Tighnari is setting the table when Scara gets back one night, he obviously asks why, and Tighnari says they're having a guest over and he's expected to be cordial. Scara rolls his eyes, saying he has no desire to meet with anyone, but Tighnari insists this person is important to Cyno, so he's important to them— "ALL of us." He would state very pointedly.

Needless to say, Scaramouche would get the message.

So, a little later than that, Kaveh & Alhaitham trundle in, Kaveh waving and being friendly with Collei and everyone, while Alhaitham and Scara gravitate together to complain about how meaningless this dinner is and how they just wanted to read. Aka: They're happily chatting and bonding, lol 😂

After that is when none other than the annoying boy that's been pestering Scaramouche shows up, and he's immediately like, "omg not this guy again, why the fuck is he here?" And Alhaitham is like— nothing, actually, because he's a menace and likes subjecting the people he loves to drama. 😂 So, Scaramouche is like, "Are you really so enamored with me as to find me outside the city's walls, too?"

Sethos, however, is just like, "Oh shit, hi hat guy!" And Scara fucking hates him (definitely doesn't think his smile is cute and eyes are pretty), he's so annoying, just wants him to jump off a cliff already, omgggg (he'd catch him, but whateverrr!! 🙄😒💕) and then he's like, "I'm here for dinner." And Scara basically just feels his heart drop out of his shoes because he puts two-and-two together very quickly...

"Important to Cyno" — the Temple of Silence shit just happened, so it's obviously having to do with that

"Expected to be cordial" — usually means they'll be around more than once in a while, highly valued

"I'm here for dinner" — uh oh.

Now Sethos is looking up at and saying hi to Alhaitham, chatting with him like they've met before, and Scara is realizing his bestie is a little shit, and Alhaitham shoots him a secret smirk when Sethos looks away. Payback will be swift. But he is fast to huff out his annoyance and except his fate. Sethos is already asking questions about him, why Hat Guy is here, and Alhaitham is being vague because he is actually a loyal friend.

Still, they end up walking back to the dining area together, and it's quite the spread! Kaveh excitedly greets Sethos with a big hug and a smile - the two getting along SO well! - and then Cyno and Tighnari say hello and act as good hosts do. Everyone sits down for dinner, tea and coffee gets passed around, and suddenly Scaramouche is quieter than usual as he steams over Sethos being there, a part of his new "family" (tho he'd never call them that out loud), and he's learning his name, how they met, how they know each other, and he's burning up because— ...why?

Why does he even CARE about this little bee?

But it's in the way Sethos turns and notices his quiet first that makes his heart skip a beat, a gentle touch to his shoulder, a question of, "Hey, you okay?" And Scara snaps back that he's fine like its an instinct, but he curses himself for being so biting. Meanwhile, Sethos doesn't take his (beautiful, glittering emerald—) eyes off of him and just smiles. Takes that bite with grace and tells him, "If you don't want to be here, I won't be mad at you. I know you like your time alone." And it's like...??? How? How is he so soft, and how does he see into his soul so easily?

And that's basically where it starts. Just Sethos being Sethos - perceptive and kind and gracious - and Scara being Scara - a fucking broken mess.

But man, lemme tell you, the first time Sethos rebuttals his "Little Bee" with, "Then should I just call you Honey?" Scaramouche turns so red so fast, he punches him hard enough to knock him out of the trees and lets him fall on his ass on the alabaster stone walkway below, before tugging down his hat and flying away, Sethos left on the ground, calling after him in bewilderment, "WAS IT SOMETHING I SAID???"

And Scara just mutters that he's an idiot and disappears, LMFAO 😂
