Akarsha was unusually open about how nervous she was right now, sitting on the couch at Diya and Min’s apartment. They’d called her over and made a big deal about the whole thing, but still wouldn’t tell her what this was actually about. The three of them had been hanging out a lot together lately, and she really hoped she hadn’t done something wrong.
Eventually Min walked into the room, with Diya following not long after but staying in the hallway. Min looked rather serious and stern, leaning in close once she was in front of Akarsha to keep her at eye level. “You’ve been flirting with me and my girl here a lot lately.”
This wasn’t what Akarsha was expecting at all, and instantly she was twice as nervous as before. “I do that to everyone!” She insisted, but quickly followed up with “But I can totally stop if it’s making her uncomfortable or you uncomfortable or...” For the longest time Min simply watched with that same stern expression... but couldn’t keep it for long and cracked into laughter.
Completely confused, Akarsha let out nervous laughter of her own as she waited to see what was going on. “Sorry, watching you squirm was just really fun.” Min said, not even attempting to dodge the well-deserved punch to the shoulder Akarsha gave her a moment later.
“So do you want me to stop the flirting, or what?” Akarsha asked once Min was finally able to pull herself together. Looking over her shoulder, Min nodded at Diya who quickly joined at her at her side. “Actually, that’s why we called you over here, we have a proposal.” Min said, “How many girlfriends do you have right now?”
Akarsha hadn’t quite caught on just yet, and tilted her head slightly. “None. You didn’t call me over here just to brag did you?” Min was about to explain herself, but Diya decided to speak up instead: “What if you had two?” You could practically see the gears turning in Akarsha’s head as she mulled this over and the look on her face when it finally processed was priceless.
“Wait... Wait, really?” She asked, and as if in reply they joined her on the couch. Akarsha still looked a little unsure, like this could turn out to be some kind of sick prank any second. Diya took one of her hands reassuringly, and Min followed suit by taking the other.
“It’s true, dude.” Min said with a laugh, looking over at Diya. “Tell her something sappy so she’ll get it.” After mulling it over in her head for a few seconds, Diya eventually had a reply that neatly summed up all the conversations she’d had with Min about this beforehand:
“It feels more like home when you’re here.”
