“Ash Lake”

I was severely depressed about this painting for a few days. One of my viewers suggested a dark filter around a few areas of this painting. The result; a bland and uninteresting painting that I could absolutely not publish.

So I went back to an earlier backup file I was happier with more or less.

The lesson here: you have to be happy with the result more than the client/viewer. If you aren’t happy with it, you will never have the confidence to publish paintings under your name. /lecture

Serenity

I was asked by my Patron to abstractly paint out “serenity”. He didn’t specify what should be in the painting, only to have that word in mind.

Anyway, I imagined something like this and I’m extremely happy the way this came out.

Orange Tree

Oh, forgot to mention of the orange tree I brag about on stream.

Rains knocked a bunch of orange blossoms off making for some “Instragram” worthy shots of the garden path.  Enjoy :)

Jasmine

Jasmine used to flourish all over our garden, but it started to become a nuisance for my father to grow. But, my mother did not want to obliterate the plant entirely. She gathered a fraction of the original plant and now it grows propped up against a wall.

The season for Jasmine is a bit early, but I’m not going to complain as it makes a lovely tea!

(For every teaspoon of a weak Jasmine tea, add three fresh flowers)

“Bonfire Gatherings”

Last night I randomly searched on Youtube for Bob Ross and got a tutorial on how to paint a campfire.

He did a better job obviously and there were other things involved, but I took the basics and applied it to this painting. Quite happy with the result considering it was a spontaneous work. Hope you like it too :)

He rose from his seat and straightened his bafk. Then he sipped some water and started to laugh. He walked through the snow and got rid of some bodies He had forgotten to heat it and put some tea inside. For once in his life the tea was good and he didnt cry. So he had another cup, then another. “Smoking Silence”

Wrapped in the fragility of life.

I was joking with my Twitch chat that this could be an indie album cover if someone was desperately looking for an abstract smoking lady, haha.

A little bit darker than where my paintings tend to go. Had this idea brewing in my mind for awhile, the only reason it took so long was getting the right angle for the face I wanted. Turned out a lot better than I expected.
