Death takes no pleasure in his job, but it is a job that must be done.

Liam Wong injects a unique cyberpunk flavour into his images, casting a light upon the dark corners and back alleys that twist throughout Tokyo. His photographs manage to precisely capture the dynamism of the bustling city lit by bright neon signs and artificial lights, making one question the reality depicted in each photograph. With a distinct futuristic feel, most of Wong’s portfolio gives the sense that you were dropped into the middle of a stylish video game set in Japan’s animated capital.
Wong has a keen eye to accompany a talent for composition and lighting, combining the two to produce these vibrant images. As a graphic design director for Ubisoft, Wong is passionate about both gaming and art. He brings this artistic flair to his photographic approach, showcasing the streets of Tokyo from a surreal, computerized perspective.

Miniature Calendar Tatsuya Tanaka
Everyone must have had similar thoughts at least once. Broccoli and parsley might sometimes look like a forest, or the tree leaves floating on the surface of the water might sometimes look like little boats. Everyday occurrences seen from a pygmy’s perspective can bring us lots of fun thoughts.
I wanted to take this way of thinking and express it through photographs, so I started to put together a “Miniature Calendar” These photographs primarily depict diorama-style figures surrounded by daily necessaries. Just like a standard daily calendar, the photos are updated daily on my website and SNS page, earning it the name of “ Miniature Calendar”.

UM EXCUSE ME THOS E ARE FUCKING PIXELS HOW
Seize the Day was a calendar program made by in 1994 by Buena Vista software. It features graphics that at the time, were revolutionary because of the way they handled color cycling. These images were static bitmaps, but by changing color values, they appear animated. What is also impressive about these images is that they had full day night cycles built in, rendered also through color cycling. A few years ago, a html5 version was made. A copy was uncovered online and there is a way to use the program through DOSbox. As well, one of the original programmers for the project, Iam Gilman, has thought of the idea of remaking it, open sourced, for modern machines.
