「全国の労働者団結せよ!」
From a lesser-known aspect of Japanese history: A collection of Japanese posters depicting the leftist, proletarian movement in the country
Since the Meiji era (明治) and continuing into the end of Imperial Japan, Japan saw a growing number of leftist movements as texts (especially from Marx) were released and translated in the country. Numerous leftist parties- The Proletarian parties (無産政党), discreetly operated to evade harsh imperial oppression.
After World War II ended, amongst American occupation and a rising tide of successful communist movements in China, Korea, and Vietnam, leftist parties- despite internal divisions, successfully won elections in 1947 and appointed a socialist prime minister for Japan.
Partially due to said divisions- but mainly because of the movement’s success, the US government & CIA supported the merger of the right-wing Liberal & Democratic parties (forming the modern-day LDP), giving the LDP millions to stay afloat, while American occupation & the LDP unleashed a Red Scare in the country, purging tens of thousands of working class activists & leftists and wounding working class movements in the country for generations to come.
The LDP has been in power essentially non-stop & uninterrupted since the merger.

O.D. of bourgeoisie milk boy milk (????????????????????????)
I looked this up as I was determined to find out why a top like this would be drawn, because it’s been a while since I’ve been able to get into fashion online!
There’s a fashion label in Japan called MILKBOY. They’re still going, and they currently have tops with designs like this milkshake:
But also some other more unique ones, like this bear that says fuck.
Anyway! Now that we’ve established the MILKBOY fashion label, they had tops in the late 80s/early 90s that said…
With a further desire to obscure the obscure desire, they were sometimes abbreviated to ‘ODOB’ or ‘OD of Bourgeoisie’…
..and so they had designs… like this!
Which brings us full circle back to Akane, who has a much cooler style than people give her credit for.
I like to imagine that if Ranma ½ were made today, she’d be sitting there wearing the bear that says fuck.
Wow this was incredibly informative!!

So many of you are anti-police until you're scared of guns, and then you openly want police to be granted the power to go into people's homes and take their firearms, completely aloof from the thousands of people who will die because of it.
Over here police sold decommisioned guns worth millions to gangs. The loss of life, including children, number the thousands.
