During his senior year of high school, a military recruiter came to speak to his class. Without even hesitating, he knew this was what he needed to do. He joined the military to help support his mother and help her get out a debt. Once he graduated at age 18, he joined the Marines.

After his third tour in the Middle East, he was honorably discharged after nearly dying in an attack. Even though he was discharged, the Marines put it down that he was in 10 years (even though it was technically 9). He came home, he was diagnosed with PTSD and was told that despite the surgeons’ best efforts because of some damage he suffered, he wasn’t going to be able to walk again.

Tired of feeling sorry for himself, he went enrolled in college and went to physical therapy. They said it might take up to a year to be able to walk again. Miraculously, he was able to walk again in just 4 months, making him able to walk his mother down the aisle when she got remarried.

Currently Located: TBD Occupation: Works as counselor a on-profit organization is called Lean on Me Recreation and Help Center (LOMRC) that is backed by some very wealthy investors. Grayson usually deals with troubled and depressed teens, adults with depression and PTSD, and those who are grieving from a loss of a family member or friend.

Not only does the center offer therapy and counseling, there is also a gym, a pool, dance classes, a spa, a playground, a few classes, …all types of stuff. Counseling is free but the recreation services can be as low as $5 to use. Former Occupation: He worked as at a skating rink and a movie theater while he was in high school. Was a sergeant in the military.

Grayson is a fun, easy-going and caring guy. His love and need to take care of people stemmed from his mother, but grew when he noticed a lot of his fellow soldiers dealing with their own struggles. He offered to listen to them when they needed a friend and often went out of his way to get them the help they needed. He helped three women get justice for sexual harassment while not being seen as a traitor.

Grayson tries to always do the right thing while also struggling with his own issues. He will go out of his way to be helpful. People shouldn’t take his kindness for weakness, though. He isn’t afraid to punch or threaten someone. Being in the Marines has taught him to be a hero, but has made him angry about so many things.

Grayson was raised by his single mother, Olivia, when his father died suddenly when he was six years old. Despite growing up poor, Olivia did whatever she could to keep her son clean, fed, and in school. He was also very close to both maternal and paternal grandparents.His maternal grandparents, Jerry and Linda, live in Alabama. His pathernal grandparents, Betty and Sid, live nearby. They helped out with Grayson whenever Olivia would let them. They got along, she was just too prideful to be seen as the desperate widow who needed hand-outs.

Her pride lead to getting into some debt, since for most of Grayson’s life she worked as both a waitress and a hairdresser. Grayson found out about this debt while in school and wanted to help out as soon as he could. He got a job a local skating rink and then at a movie theater.

Olivia helped out those around her, even when she was struggling herself. When her son left for the military, she was heartbroken, but saw it as a great opportunity for him. During his last two years in the military, she met a man. She felt guilty, but was glad her son approved. When Grayson and his unit were attacked, Olivia thought her life was over. She was there for her son during the toughest time in his life, even though he wasn’t easy. He had come back depressed and angry. She was about to put off her wedding until Grayson swore to be able to walk her down the aisle. She was blown away when after 4 months of hard work, he was able to walk again.

Generally, Willa presents herself in more masculine attire. She commonly get mistaken as a male and doesn’t really see the need to correct people. She isn’t offended by it. The only time she really corrects people is if they’re about to be intimate.

At the age of 19, Willa was arrested for attempted burglary and possession of a weapon (a knife). She swears she was just there, trying to help a friend from getting caught but ended up taking the fall. Sitting in a jail cell, she felt her life was over, so she attempted to take her life. The lawyers, her aunt, and the judge felt like she needed help more than jail time and admitted her into a young adult rehab and behavior modifying center to help her do better.

Once she was out at age 21, she moved to San Fran to live with her mom’s older sister, Janet, until she was able to move out on her own.

Pamela 16 when she gave birth to Willa. She slept with a senior who thought he wanted to be a father, but dropped the ball within the first year of Willa being around. Pamela had to lean on her slightly absent parents to help her raise her daughter. Since she came from a blue-collar family, Pam had to take whatever baby items she could get, which meant sometimes baby Willa wore boys clothes. It seemed, however, as she got older, Willa preferred boys’ clothing. Her mom just wanted her to be comfortable. She didn’t believe in trying to “fix” or change her daughter. As long as she was happy, she was happy. Anyone who tried to tell her otherwise would get a mouthful from Pam. She was a very scrappy woman.

For most of her life, it was just Willa and her mom. They were close. They struggled sometimes, but as fast as she could tell she was living a comfortable, normal life.

When Willa was 17, her world was turned up-side down when her mother died. She was dealing with her sexuality and now the only other person who understood her was gone without any warning. Daewon’s parents found themselves in America when he was just a young boy. His family lived in Queens, New York for a while before moving to New Jersey. Growing up, Daewon was often bullied and ostracized for being darker than the other kids and for having a different accent.He was teased for always smelling like curry and dressing differently. He begged his parents, who also ran into social issues of their own, to help him “more American”. Some neighbors insisted his family try going to their Christian church. At first, it was just to blend in show everyone he was just like everyone else. As he grew older, however, his faith in Christianity grew stronger because it was through the Christian church he was able to “have it easier”. He started going by the name Wayne and became a very devout man.

After he graduated highschool at 18, Daewon joined the U.S. Air Force. During basic training, however, Daewon faced similar issues he had growing up. He was tired of ethnic name giving him problems. One of the sergeants on his first day took one look at his surname, shook his had, and said,” How ‘bout I just call you Jones?” Once Daewon was out of basic training, he changed his last name to “Jones”, making Mbadinuju his middle name he never speaks of.

While stationed in Germany when he was 21, he met a gorgeous woman, 18 at the time, in a bar while he and his fellow airmen were out on the town. It was love at first sight. Jasmine Bacot, an African, Jamaican, Spanish, and French Canadian, was in Germany with her father, an engineer. The two hit it off instantly. Within a year they were married and when Jasmine was 19, she found out he was pregnant with a son.

As he started his family, Daewon fell back in love with culture. Faith brought him a loving wife and a healthy boy. Somehow Daewon found a way to balance and celebrate culture while staying a devout Christian. He saw the diversity of his family as a blessing and celebrated it. While in Jamaica, visiting Jasmine’s family, the couple gave birth to their daughter three years later.

Leighton and his family are close, especially his sister, but he is enjoying his time away from them. His parents are loving and supporting, but strict. Their Christian values made Leighton and Kali feel like they couldn’t fully be themselves. Sure, they were encouraged to be creative and expressive, but with a few limitations. Daewon and Jasmine attended every competition, school event, and any other extracurricular activities, despite the two of them having their own busy careers.

Teal has had a hard life and it shows in her hard, slightly cold demeanor. She feels as though she never had a fair chance at life because of her upbringing, so she takes it out on people sometimes.

Her background, however, gives her the strength and motivation to always do what she thinks is best for herself. People tend to judge or think they can take advantage of her because of the type of work she does. Teal, however, has thick skin and has no problem putting a person in their place. She makes her money off of attention and adoration, but will quickly discard it if she feels attacked in any way. She promised herself she would never let another person use her.

Deep down, however, Teal is a sweetheart. Once a person gets to know her, they see she’s actually a caring and considerate person. She doesn’t know ever know if she can fully trust someone. She’s quick to judgement and falls in “love” at the wrong times.

Teal’s mother left when she was two and that was the last time the two of them would see each other. Her mother left in the night, leaving her father a note and the responsibility to raise his daughter himself. This turned Jesse John into a bitter man who began to drink heavily and do drugs, turning him into a terrible man. His mother, Harriett, raised Teal until she was about 9, when Jesse John wanted his daughter back, mainly to keep the house tidy and cook for him since no woman wanted to deal with such a vile man.

One day when Teal was about 12 and just started puberty, Jesse John had a few men over for poker and a friend of his made a comment about how his daughter was filling out nicely. He thought nothing of it until he lost a bunch of money and the winner came by a few days later, ready to collect the money. Jesse John then offered up his young daughter instead of the money and the man gladly took the offer. From that day on, Jesse John would occasionally whore out his daughter for money.

Teal was tired of it and if she said anything about to her dad, he would beat her. Harriett offered to take Teal in, but she was afraid her father would hit her grandma. So, when she was 15, she quietly packed her bags and knocked her dad over the head with a bottle. She stole his car to get as far away from Jamestown as she could.

Teal still keeps in touch with her grandmother Harriet and is probably the closet person she has in her life right now. She sends her money and visits her when she can.

Hawthorne lived in a small town in England in the countryside with his wife and son. He married at 17 years old to his mother’s best friend’s daughter (his childhood crush) and spent the next handful of years vowing to provide for his wife and son. Soon, however, he joined the British army and fought in the American Revolutionary War. He died on the battlefield in 1779, but to his surprise, he woke up in a field of his fallen comrades with his maker standing over him. That was the day his who life changed.

Post-Vampire

The man who turned him belonged to one, out of eight, of the most powerful and influential vampire families in Europe and America. He was told he was chosen to become something great; a vampire. Not just any vampire, but one with status. He was to be part of an army to help combat some orphan/independent groups the eight major families couldn’t control.The only catch was, he had to leave his family.

His maker gave him a month to cut ties before he returned for him. When he made it home with his new abilities, he hid it from his wife at first. One day, she caught him drinking from a chicken and that’s when he confessed everything to her. In shock at first, she promised to stay by his side and keep his secret no matter what. This made Hawthorne want to stay with his family, declining help from his maker. When his maker returned a month later and Hawthorne told him he wouldn’t go with him. His maker pretended to understand and there was no contact for two weeks.

Then, his maker posed as a new comer to the town, mentioning how he had to leave his village because of witches. The rumors of a witches made the town begin to whisper and keep an eye on any suspicious women. The whispers turned to paranoia and soon women were being accused as witches, including Hawthorne’s wife. When he went to talk to this newcomer, the people of his town started to round up certain women, taking them from their homes and families to bring them to justice. 16 women were burned, Hawthorne’s wife being one of them. His maker then told him, “You have no one now. Your son can’t know about your wife is dead. You have to come with me now.” Hawthorne knew this and had his son live with his wife’s best friend and knew he had no choice. He joined him.

Hawthorne, throughout the many, many years of his life has served in several wars. He used the military for recruitment and thrill, and sometimes food.

Around the 1940′s, Hawthorne’s powerful family was in the middle of a war with another vampire family while the rest of the world was in a war of its own. He was given orders to join the German army to recruit from within. All he knew was that those working for this guy named Hitler were people in very powerful positions and it was an advantage his family wanted. While serving, however, he learned of the heinous things the Nazis were doing and confronted his family about it. Tired of the bloodshed, deception, innocent lives being taken, and old way of thinking against other supernaturals and humans, Hawthorne left his family.

He “hid” in South America for a while. Since then, Hawthorne has struggled to keep his family away so that he could live freely. Today, his family has its hands in a several territories to keep and eye on Hawthorne and try to find ways to bring him back into the family. They know it’s only a matter of time before he slips up and needs a favor from the only people who give a damn about his damned self; his family.

Penny is the type of girl you would see hanging out of the top of a limo, having body shots licked out of her belly button, and feeding ducks in a park. She’s a carefree, energetic, and kindhearted girl who is always ready to party and have a good time!

When Penny was around the age of 12, she had gained a little weight because the very active kid broke her leg. She was teased by kids at school, which got to her. She secretly began to eat less and less. Her mother noticed her sudden weight loss and confronted Penny on it. They took her to the doctors to have her treated for mild anorexia. They worked with some of the best “healers” that taught reminded Penny to always love herself and how to get back on a healthy diet (one to help her gain weight but still be healthy at the same time). Penny struggled with it a little at first, unable to get past the teasings. By the time she was she was 15, Penny was healthy again. From that dark part in her past, she promised herself to not only love herself, but to help other women love themselves as well, not matter their body type, skin color, religious background, or sexual preference.

Monty really only socializes at work, and even that is an exaggeration. Sometimes he will meet up with the teachers for a happy hour, but won’t stay long. Monty generally tends to keep to himself but that doesn’t mean he isn’t friendly. Even though he prefers to keep his interactions short, he will make small conversation from time to time. At the places he frequents, he is a little more social with the people who work there/the owners than he if with people who also go there. Ever since the death of his wife and child, he keeps to himself because of how he was treated during the trial. Most people only wanted to know the gruesome details of their death and it sickened him. Surprisingly enough, Monty is not your typical middle child. Now that they are all older and most of his siblings have matured, he gets along with them just fine. Monty never really felt left out growing up since for a while he was technically the youngest. When his younger brother and sister came around, they looked to him like the older sibling since the other two were at least 10 years older than them. Monty was usually the one to break up the fights between his older brother and sister.

Despite the lingering sadness with Monty, he is a very sweet and funny guy. He enjoys his alone time but is pleasant to those who talk to him. When it comes to flirting, he has a really hard time picking up on it. If the person is being direct, it usually leaves him speechless. He does blush easy since he’s so out of touch with dating and flirting.

Eleven months and two days were absolute torture for Monty Yont. His world was turned upside down when after a delayed flight coming home from a weekend-long English conference, he found his wife and daughter had been brutally murdered. The cops were at his house before got home. A neighbor had called because of an unfamiliar car at the Yont household that seemed to speed off minutes after they got home. His wife and daughter were victims of a string of break-ins across Boston. The media was following the suspected group of three men who were on drugs. One convenience store and 5 other families were robbed, the first three families were only smacked around. The group was escalating because of the pressure and had raped the wife and husband of the fourth family, but raped and killed Monty’s wife and snapped his daughter’s neck because they noticed the neighbor come home and panicked.

Five hours later, while Monty was down at the police station answering questions, the three men were found and arrested. Since the men were terrorizing Boston, the trial started just two days after Monty’s family was murdered. Before he knew it, his name and face were all over the place as the trial went on. 11 months never felt so long.

Kelsey-Dean lived in Cincinatti until his youngest daughter turned 10, moving to Florida with his new wife and her two children. Abigail raised her children with her boyfriend, now husband, in Cincinatti but moved to Boston when Dallas went to college in Boston at age 21 (he took two years off to work). Monty’s mother and father get along, but there is some resentment since both feel a bit of guilt and some disappointment in the other for not communicating better to make their marriages work.

Monty gets along with brothers and sisters pretty well. His two older siblings still tease him and give him a hard time. His younger brother feels he is living in his shadow, but still has a lot of respect for him. His younger sister looks up to Monty more than the other two siblings. Tuesday is teased the most and sometimes Dallas feels like the middle child more than Monty does.
