You May Not Know It But Your Brain Is Wired To Crash
Veteran paramedic explains how our brains are naturally wired to crash and what we can do about it to avoid unnecessary motorcycle accidents.
Sucks to vote leave.
The Beemer is dead. I had a driver pull out on me me February and had my first ever SMIDSY in 30 years of riding. I am quite upset, for sure. I do have a dislocated shoulder that probably needs surgery. But it will be fixed and in the end I will get a new bike.
I was getting the bike ready for a ride and noticed the rain drops on it. Thought that would make a great photo.
Like all bikers I love to ride. OK,I am a middle-aged, well-employed Brit, not really what you would associate with the word biker. But my bike is in my soul so I figure it counts for something. For me a ride out on a weekend is just the best. But sharing it with a bud is the best. Mark, here, and I have ridden a long way together and we gel so well. I appreciate his company more than he will ever know.
Changed out the starter motor on my R1100RS over the weekend. The old one looks pretty scary, probably the original one installed when the bike was built 16 years ago. Doing this job on these big oil heads is a simple one, 20 mins end to end. New starter was 70 quid delivered off eBay

Amazing!!!
The ride in to work on a morning such as this is utterly special.
A most fascinating person.
RIDER-TO-RIDER GREETINGS
It’s pretty standard for motorcyclists to greet one another when passing in opposite directions. It’s kind of like a two-wheeled solidarity salute. Occasionally a rider will not return a greeting, which is pretty rude and just strange. I mean, it’s like someone leaving you hanging on a high-five. Usually if a rider doesn’t signal back, the odds are bent heavily in favor of that dude being on a Harley.
On this trip we invented a new greeting that we like to call “the emphatic wave.” We especially enjoy throwing this one up to guys who appear to be taking themselves far too seriously on their Harleys. It’s tough to ignore four dudes on massive Gold Wings who are emphatically waving at you.
And since we all have communication systems in our helmets, we can synchronize our wave to start all at once which hits ‘em with a blindside that they are totes unprepared for. We generally laugh for about five minutes after issuing an emphatic wave. Try it. You’ll love it.

This is what I want my funeral to look like when I die.
This is a time lapse sunset taken with an SJ4000 camera and using VSDC Free Video Editor to stitch together. The whole thing is made up of 1534 individual frames, one taken every 5 seconds on an SJ4000 camera. If there is enough interest then I will happily do a tutorial. As with everything on VSDC - once you know how it's easy! Just need a 50 second audio clip. Suggestions welcome.

How to leave work in style.
Some selfies are just better than others. My mate, Mark, snapped this last year as we were waiting to board the Eurotunnel to France. Ain't no migrant hiding on my rig. That's me in the back.
