Our final Public Living Room

This Wednesday we had the very last Public Living Room with us as hosts at T-huset in Tingbjerg. But that doesn’t mean that there will never be a Public Living Room again, since we have designed a kit to help people to create Public Living Room events.

We have designed the kit based on all the meetings and workshops we have had both with Lene and Camilla from T-huset and with all the people we have met from Tingbjerg.

The kit is a present from us to T-huset and all the people in Tingbjerg. It will be located in T-huset, but it is available for everyone to borrow. If you want to host a Public Living Room at your home, in your stairway, in the laundry room or maybe in a park nearby, you just go to T-huset and borrow the kit. With the kit you will also find explanations on what to do. You can use the kit to stage meetings with any subject you want. Do you want to discuss politics? Share recipes? Find people who are interested in painting? Or just meet your neighbors? You decide!

Præsentation of design

We would like to invite you to our event the 6. of January, which will be the final of our work here in Tingbjerg.

The exiting meetings and workshops we have had with you, has formed the basis of the design of a tool box, which we would like to hand over to you and the employees in T-Huset. The tool box can be used by anyone who just like us wants to host a pop-up Public Living Room event. It could be with the purpose of getting in contact with new neighbors, to create debate meetings, to share stories about Tingbjerg or something completely different. You decide!

We hope that you will join us when we are presenting and handing over our design to you.

Workshop

Yesterday we had a good and very cozy workshop with some of you here from Tingbjerg. We had really giving debates about the pop-up medium and how to proceed in the project. Once again we left Tingbjerg with a feeling that there are so many nice people who are willing to contribute and share their good ideas.

For instance we discussed the boundaries between public and private, what are good activities to do with people you just met and we made collages to show what a good meeting place looks like.

Work in progress..

The last couple of days we have worked with the design of our next workshop. It will be in next week together with some of you. We are excited!

We are also planning a pop-up after christmas, where you are all invited.

Second Public Living Room

Today the sun was shining which made it possible to move the cozy living room outside. Again a lot of people stopped by to have a chat about the neighborhood in Tingbjerg.

You have shared stories with us about neighbors drinking coffee together, who helps each other and takes care of each other. We find these stories very inspiring.

A theme in the Public Living Room has for instance been how to take the first step to get in contact with your neighbors? Is it a hello in the laundry room? Is it a meeting in Aldi? Or maybe an invitation to a cop of coffee?

A lot of people are interested in meeting new people, but feel that the first step can be difficult to take. Today we have had dialogues about how this first meeting could be made easier.

Now we are going home to the drawing table to develop the ideas we had today. We will update the blog regularly and share our process with you.

First Public Living Room

Thanks a lot to all of you who stopped by our very first Public Living Room in Tingbjerg!

We had such a good afternoon where many of you residents from Tingbjerg joined us in the warmth and shared your stories with us.

It was interesting to meet all of you and we have been enriched with a lot of good conversations all ready. There were a lot of exciting ideas on the table and we have learned more about how we can become better neighbors and develop Tingbjerg together.

Right now we are in the middle of preparing our next Public Living Room in beboerhuset this thursday the 26. and we are among other trying to visualize your interesting ideas. We hope that you all want to stop by again in the Public Living Room and say hello this thursday.

We are looking forward to see you for coffee and cake, everyone is welcome!
