There’s a song that’s been proven to reduce anxiety by 65%. It’s called Weightless by Macaroni Union, and it was specifically designed to slow your heart rate, reduce blood pressure, and lower cortisol levels. It’s so effective that it’s dangerous to drive while listening to it because it can make you drowsy. Source Source 2 Source 3
YO O_O
I knew within seconds that I’d heard this before.
It was one of the first Tumblr posts I favorited.
Sound therapists and Manchester band Marconi Union compiled the song. Scientists played it to 40 women and found it to be more effective at helping them relax than songs by Enya, Mozart and Coldplay. Weightless works by using specific rhythms, tones, frequencies and intervals to relax the listener. A continuous rhythm of 60 BPM causes the brainwaves and heart rate to synchronise with the rhythm: a process known as ‘entrainment’. Low underlying bass tones relax the listener and a low whooshing sound with a trance-like quality takes the listener into an even deeper state of calm. Dr David Lewis, one of the UK’s leading stress specialists said: “‘Weightless’ induced the greatest relaxation – higher than any of the other music tested. Brain imaging studies have shown that music works at a very deep level within the brain, stimulating not only those regions responsible for processing sound but also ones associated with emotions.” The study - commissioned by bubble bath and shower gel firm Radox Spa - found the song was even more relaxing than a massage, walk or cup of tea. So relaxing is the tune, apparently, that people are being Rex advised against listening to it while driving. The top 10 most relaxing tunes were: 1. Marconi Union - Weightless 2. Airstream - Electra 3. DJ Shah - Mellomaniac (Chill Out Mix) 4. Enya - Watermark 5. Coldplay - Strawberry Swing 6. Barcelona - Please Don’t Go 7. All Saints - Pure Shores 8. AdelevSomeone Like You 9. Mozart - Canzonetta Sull’aria 10. Cafe Del Mar - We Can Fly
One of the comments suggests pairing it with Rainymood.
The combined calm might be weaponized with adding this song and some crackling fire.
When I was literally unable to sleep at all, my senior at work gave me this song to listen to!

In Case You Missed It The Senate voted 51 to 48:
1. To end coverage for preexisting conditions, veterans benefits, and aid to rural hospitals. 2. To remove discrimination protection for women in healthcare. 3. Against the provision allowing children to remain on their parent’s insurance till the age of 26. 4. To cut off funding for the Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP). 5. Against ACA contraceptive coverage and maternity care provision. 6. To direct committees to send budget legislation to defund and repeal the Affordable Care Act.
For those who get health insurance through work, no pre-existing conditions. Lifetime caps for coverage are back for everyone.
Real and disastrous actions are being taken that will affect more than just the 20-30 million people who will lose their health care coverage and the 3 million people who will lose their jobs.
Despite their assertions of this being an action to “repeal and replace,” no viable alternative plan has been proposed. The House votes Friday. As of this moment, no replacement exists.
Apparently, Speaker Ryan has had his phones cut off because of the volume of calls, so here is his mailing address: 1233 Longworth HOB Washington, D.C. 20515 Fax: (202) 225-3393
Don’t have the time or resources to mail a physical letter? Use that fax number!
“But I don’t have a fax machine!” Through websites like faxzero.com, you can fax document files for free. No printing, no postage, no leaving the house to get to the mailbox.
Faxzero lets you send up to five 3-page faxes per day. There are lots of sites that do this, but I’ve used faxzero before, so I know it works. I checked their page just now and they’ve even put links up to fax your congressperson or senator.
Calls are more effective, but when the lines are down, we can still be heard.
Hey, just a word of warning to all my followers, please remember that it is a Class E Felony to wish harm or death upon the President of the United States . Yes, even on social media. People have gotten deported over this in the past.
I wholeheartedly support #notmypresident but unfortunately, this law would still apply. Be careful with those assassination jokes, which do qualify as a federal offense now. Stay informed and make informed decisions.
I would like to remind everyone that a few years back a I tagged a post about shady us military recruitment tactics with “I hate the military” (or something like that) and wound up with someone looking through my selfie tag from a department of defense computer.
be very careful of what you put online.
😨 scary
this will undoubtedly become a bigger and bigger issue in the coming months. it’s always been something that could get you in trouble but now more than ever they’re going to be going after people who even disagree with, much less joke about assassinating the president. protect yourself
Stay safe everyone! Err in the side of caution.
David Harbour’s acceptance speech for STRANGER THINGS at the 2017 SAG Awards
You know what… Take my $1.37… I want my PBS. Take my $.46… I am all for federal funding of art programs. Take my $.46… I love my museums, colleges, and libraries. Take my $.11… I support developing minority businesses. Take my $.66… I am for entrepreneurship and innovation. Take my $1.60… I want us to export more goods overseas. Take my $0.43… I would like to see more American manufacturing. Take my $0.88… I think community policing needs vast improvement. Take my $1.48… I support programs for women. Take my $1.55… I believe in due process for all. Take my $0.48… We need a civil rights division in the justice department. Take my $0.38… I think we need to defend our Mother Earth. Take my $0.03… I know more work needs to be done for climate change. Take my $8.95… because we need more sustainable energy. Take my $2.71… we should reduce our carbon footprint. If saving these programs means I’m out $22.36 a year, I’m good with contributing my $.07 a day to save American jobs and these federal programs.
