Theres this rhythm game at this arcade near here that i've been playing alot of recently. It had all this idol music and Japanese stuff. There was kyary, Momoiro Clover, etc. BUT, what was really surreal was that it had Darude Sandstorm on it. Several layers of weeaboo music, then Darude Sandstorm.

just last night i was helping out at a convention party and i was in one room doing stuff and in the next room, they were playing music and darude sandstorm comes on and i swear to god in the few moments between thinking “hey this sounds familiar” and “oh my god it’s darude sandstorm” everything got a little slow and fuzzy and my surroundings sorta disappeared and i completely forgot about my responsibilities and the world around me. the closer i got to realizing it was darude sandstorm, the more detached i became but once i put it together, i immediately felt like a bunch of cold water had been dumped on me. i never thought i would hear darude sandstorm in real life so i was totally unprepared and it threw me for such a loop that i was staring into space trying to process it for like 3 - 8 seconds.
