“I would certainly advise that you speak with her grace,” Kat said. “It is true that it is part of the challenge that the arbiter has leveled to each of us but we are not pitted against one another in terms of our charitable work alone. While it is true that each house is planning and hosting their own charitable event, this goes beyond that specific event. It is something I would like the House to carry on for some time to come. Regardless, if Amalie does not wish you to assist, I, of course, understand. In the future, after this challenge is over, maybe it is something you can assist with then.”

Ophelia listened attentively, doing her best to piece together the French that spilled fluently from the Duchess.  “I see,” she responded slowly as she absorbed the explanation.  “I would like to help very much.  Here is my card.”  Scrambling to the desk, Ophelia grabbed a business card and handed it over with both hands and a slight nod.  “And I will speak with the Duchess of my House, but if it is okay, I think your project sounds very interesting and very promising.  However I can help, I would like to do so.”

“Good,” he told her simply. “Then kneel on the blanket.” The order came easily. With the difference in tone, Cesario had an easier time ordering her about, infusing intensity that was different from their more casual scenes and intimacy. He liked telling her what to do and he liked when they dynamic was clear. It wasn’t that he didn’t enjoy when she pushed his buttons, but now was about the mutual respect of Dominance and submission. Each had their role and saw the structure of the scene. The routine. It was a framework for Cesario to let his creativity run wild, with Ophelia as his canvas.

Ophelia let herself lean into his touch once more before her body moved obediently with his words.  Settling herself on the blanket, she shifted and knelt atop the blanket, hands placed upon her legs.  The temptation to tease and bite back lingered at the tip of her tongue but when Cesario used that tone, it was easy to fall in line for him.  And this was a scheduled scene for them, something they had arranged for their needs.  Something about how serious this was made Ophelia wish to please him; but... maybe a little bit of her signature snark peeked out.  “Is that all?” she asked with a playful smirk.

I view my career like a rubber-band ball in that every role is a new experience building toward something bigger.

Accepting the pamphlet from the counter, Bridgette carefully tucks it into her bag, before rummaging through and offering a flyer for Bijoux in return. “Here, if you ever need a drink. I work here. Thursday nights are Ladies night, we do half price specials or 2 for 1′s on selected cocktails if you’re into that. It’s pretty chill and a fun way to meet people if you’re into that sort of thing. We’ve also booked a pretty good DJ for the next few weeks. She’s fairly new, but she’s got some good ass beats happening”

Taking the flyer in her own hands, Ophelia knitted her brow as she read through it.  There were enough context clues, graphics included, that keyed Ophelia in that this must be a bar or a club.  While her French had started to improve, it was still not as fluent as she would have liked.  “I have been looking for more places like this.  Do you work at this place?” she asked curiously.  It was that or this submissive was some sort of promoter.  “Oh and if you still need to wait for this ‘Stefan,’ feel free but I am closing up soon.”

He wouldn’t be lifting Ophelia terribly high, so he hadn’t rigged up anything overkill. His knots would be well tested and secure before he had her languish in the ropes. “That’s my good girl,” he told her before reaching with his free hand to run his fingers over her cheek before catching the front of her throat. “So will you give over to me? Every inch of control. My pretty girl?”

Normally, Ophelia wouldn’t quite blush and gush at being called someone’s “pretty girl,” but when it came from Cesario, there was something about it that made the submissive smirk with a hint of fondness. His pretty girl.  She turned her face to lean into his touch and placed a gentle kiss against his palm, her gaze on him, before she felt his hand wrap around her throat.  The sensation had her tingling as her smirk grew wider.  “You have it, all of it.  All of me.”

“My house is working on a program to promote STEM education in Vannes and then hopefully to the whole of Breton. People often assume that sciences and the arts are not compatible. I am hoping to prove otherwise.” Kat knew that the logic needed for sciences and math often could be found in things like music. 

Her House?  Ophelia nodded, eyes widening a fraction in surprise.  It seemed like a great opportunity for her, especially since her school was still quite new.  “That sounds like a very intriguing concept, Your Grace.  But, I am not certain I am allowed to help.  If I can, I would like to be involved, but is this related to any sort of ‘charity’ work that might run against House Anjou?”

Birthday candles

Aoife considered for a moment before she let out a laugh, “Wouldn’t people think you have gone crazy though if you start adding candles randomly to desserts?  I get that it would look pretty but if I started serving ice cream and cheesecake with candles then my submissive would be calling for help because I had clearly lost my mind.  It would be fun with edible candles though.  I saw them on a cookery show once.”

Ophelia shrugged but she let out a small laugh.  “Possibly but what does it matter what others think?  It is just a candle on a cake or ice cream--cute and festive for any occasion.”  That definitely seemed like something a younger Ophelia might have done: stick candles onto all sorts of food and dishes just to mess with her friends.  “Edible candles?  I have never heard of such things.  Is it still made of wax?”

Figuring that Ophelia was tired, Adelaide slipped back into Italian. “I think that sounds lovely. I haven’t been there either, so that sounds like a great idea. There are so many restaurants in the city, it feels like I’ve barely scratched the surface even with all of the eating out I’ve done recently.”

Ophelia might not have immediately noticed, but the moment Adelaide switched to Italian gave the former a bit of relief.  Trying to channel a different language while packing up was proving to be a bit of a challenge.  It took a bit of mental effort to think of what she meant to say in Italian and then translate it into her head in French and hopefully say it correctly aloud.  “I feel the same.  I think... I think I have a take-out menu from Chez Benoit somewhere...”  Her hands scrambled across a few different papers on the counter before her face lit up.  “Ah!  Here, take a look at what looks good while I finish up.”

“Oh, why thank you -” Sarai was a little taken aback as the submissive attended her ankle; it was nothing, just an inconvenience but the assistance was very sweet. “No, aside from just a twinge really. It’s really nothing and I have a friend on the way but thank you. I’m more embarrassed than anything,” she said with a laugh.

From what Ophelia could tell, it looked like just a sprain--nothing broken or really twisted.  “Some rest and maybe some ice will help.”  Standing up, Ophelia walked over to the backroom and pulled out an ice pack from a mini-fridge stocked with water and some other miscellaneous snacks.  “Here,” she handed the pack over with a small smile.  “If you need the address for your friend, I can also grab you my business card.”

“I would probably get dehydrated,” Freddie said, nodding. “And that’s the last thing I want to happen while I’m singing. But the drama of it appeals to me so it might have to come home with me. Are you shopping for anything specific today or just browsing?”

“Maybe... a vest version?  Cut off the sleeves?” she asked with a chuckle, though a clerk quickly threw a concerned glance their direction.  “Just browsing for now.  I was thinking of buying a small gift for Cesario’s magazine launch--a tie clip or some new cuffs.  But I became distracted when I saw that skirt over there.”

As the woman passed back her phone, Rory glanced down, wanting to see if she wrote back. She figured that wasn’t the case as she hadn’t seen the woman type anything; but she still decided to check just in case. Letting out a soft sigh, she glanced back up at the woman, noticing she was speaking again, this time most likely in Italian. She tried to see if she could pick up any of the words; but Italian wasn’t a language she was comfortable lipreading. Redirecting her attention to her phone, she once again typed out a message for the woman. I’m sorry. I can’t actually read lips in Italian very well. I can only read lips in French and English… If you write something back, I’m perfectly fine reading Italian. Again, I’m sorry. 😖  She felt like she was starting to be some sort of burden, having to communicate in such a way. God, she hoped her ride arrived soon and she could get out of the woman’s hair and end this potential awkwardness. 

Oh.  As she read the message on the phone, she nodded slowly.  Ophelia found this quite curious and hadn’t expected that.  “Sorry,” she said, switching to French, one of the few words that she did know how to say.  She felt a little bad for assuming.  Pulling her own phone out of her pocket, she scrambled to type out a response in Italian.

it’s no trouble i said earlier that you can stay as long as you’d like until your ride arrives and i have water if you need some and i asked if you were a local here in breton

She held up her phone and passed it over with a small smile.

As she retrieved the blanket, he moved to shrug out of his jacket to hang it on a hook nearby. Carefully, he rolled up the sleeves of his button up before taking the blanket from her. He was wholly focused on the dynamic of her allowing herself to cede all control to him so that he could manipulate her body as he liked. Spreading the blanket on the ground beneath where he had lowered the bar, he looked back up to Ophelia. “Come over to me, pet,” he ordered her. 

Holding out his hand to her, he waited for her to take it so he could bring her close to him. “Do you trust me, darling?”

Now that he had the blanket, Ophelia watched him lay it down on the ground underneath the suspension bar. She was certain at this point that Cesario planned to have her up in the air. It made sense to have that layer of protection there in the event something happened. It was both worrying and thrilling, a familiar warmth pool at her core.

Walking over, she met his gaze and smiled up at him. She took his hand in hers as slender fingers held onto him. “Of course, with every part of my being.”
