“…You really don’t know do you?”
“Know what?”
the-fairest-of-them-aall:
“Central park.”
“Central Park? It’s okay.”
pierced-holden:
“Well considering I nearly hit you with my car, there are a lot of ways you could not be okay,” He said. “Me? I’m fine as long as I didn’t crush a toe or something.”
“Crush a toe? No. I’m all in one piece.”
pas-de-lux:
Lux resisted the urge to comment how the smell of that particular flower reminded her of the elderly, sticking to a short nod instead. “Sometimes I wonder how it is that you weren’t born with wings, ‘Phe.”
“Humans aren’t born with wings.” She said it simply. It was weird to think that she wasn’t born in faerieland. It was over the course of her life that she’d taken on the traits of the fae.
tessa-jocelyn-parker:
“Breaking things by jumping up on counters. Scratching up furniture. Nearly giving me a heart attack by hiding. She’s a lot of trouble in a little package.”
“Jumping on counters? Cats aren’t supposed to be on counters. Have you tried one of those scratching post things?”
dallon-ofthe-shadows:
“I’m fine. I’m just, really happy to see you…”
She dropped her gaze as a soft blush spread across her cheeks. “I’m happy to see you, too.” Ophelia tangled her fingers together. “Hopefully you didn’t miss me too much.”
thee-demons-within:
“I don’t eat much real foods nowadays.”
“Why not?”
pierced-holden:
His frustration subsided at the sight of the familiar blonde, but he wasn’t quite sure how to feel about her wandering the school grounds alone, especially so far from anyone. He had nearly hit her and she was still on campus, a walking magnet for danger. Far from breaking curfew, he knew he couldn’t use that excuse to usher her inside.
He pushed the thought away. He was upset and needed something to control and he knew that he was clinging to the image of that night with the ghouls, trying to pull at the concept that she was not to be alone. And considering how easy she seemed to be manipulated, she had become an easy target for his mind to want and attempt at regulating.
“You okay, Ophelia?” He asked, gripping the steering wheel to release some of the tension he felt.
“Of course I am!” She paused, pursing her lips together. “I don’t know why I wouldn’t be...are you okay?”
pas-de-lux:
Lux had only felt out of place a few times in her life but the feeling, so rare and uncomfortable, was traumatizing enough that she could feel the beginning of it cross over her. Next to Ophelia, she looked like the wrong side of summer and for once the person she made feel odd was herself.
“It is,” She agreed, pushing the feeling away while she still could. Ophelia’s grin was contagious and the older girl felt her own mouth curling upwards. “A little too hot, but it’s nice.”
“Oh, I don’t mind the heat.” There was a skip in her step as there always was. “In small doses anyway. I’d really love a cool breeze from across a stream...carrying the scent of gardenias.”
tessa-jocelyn-parker:
“Cute but mischievous”, she said picking up the small cat. “She’s always wandering off and causing trouble.”
“What sort of trouble could she cause? She’s so small.”
dallon-ofthe-shadows:
“You look good. Glowy, almost.”
Ophelia giggled. “Are you alright? You look all starry eyed.”
under-the-silver-vail:
“Well, yes, but still. It’s a different type of youthful. Almost like you’ve been hidden away from the troubles of this world, presumably because you’ve been in your own.”
“I’m sure there are troubles in my world, too. They’re just not the same. I don’t pay attention to them though. They haven’t really concerned me yet. Part of the things in this world do though.”
the-fairest-of-them-aall:
“Not all of it.” Belle smiled. “You just have to know where to go.”
“Really Like where?”
“Meeko, come here kitty. Meeko!”
“Oh, how adorable!”
“I thought summer was gonna be over by the time I got back,” Lux said, taking a deep breath of air, even if it was tinged with the infamous smell of the city. She was being a tad bit dramatic, but after missing spring since her time in the Seelie Court, she was intent on being present for the majority of her favorite season before she would be locked away in a training room. Now with her free time, she had tossed aside her better attire for court affairs and was back in her usual clothing- sort of.
Ophelia was wearing her usual attire: a long skirt and a shirt that danced in the wind whenever the wind caught it or she twirled. “But it isn’t. It’s barely begun. Isn’t it wonderful, Lux?”
Normally Holden didn’t show off the fact that he had a car, as many shadowhunters frowned upon the unnecessary danger they imposed and their lack of use in their field work when most of their travel required immediate portaling. Most shadowhunters didn’t have a permit, much less a license, even less an actual vehicle. But as per usual, it didn’t stop the Markhams and it especially didn’t stop Holden. He turned the car on, the engine turning just for a second after such a long sleep. He played with the gas pedal hearing it rev and grinning. Over a year had gone by and Holden had finally had the 1998 MX-5′s interior fixed from the night he was scratched and with that, finally fixed the low ticking many of his passengers found irritating. However, the tires still needed to be replaced, but before he would do that, Holds decided that he would run them down completely first now that he had a day off.
The car roared to life again as he pressed the gas pedal, a sound he hadn’t felt vibrate through his leg in months since he spent most of his travel on foot- or paw- and the car shook with life over and over again. He grinned even wider, pulling out of the Academy’s limited garage space. Or, at least he tried to. A figure nearly tapped the back of his car as soon as he pulled out, making him slam on the brake hard.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” He hissed under his breath, lowering the window and shutting the radio off.
Head in the clouds, Ophelia wasn’t paying a bit of attention to where she was going. It was the squeal of brakes that brought her back down. “Oh!” She jumped, eyes peering at the car as the window lowered.

“It is for me.”
“Shakes are desserts,” she giggled. “Except I prefer fruits generally. Something sweet.”
