A soft sigh of relief pushed through her lips as the silence turned into the only common ground they seemed to share anymore: Blair. The moments that had passed between them without a single word being uttered between them had been heavy. She’d felt it in her chest and on her shoulders, in her heart. Carsyn took the baby from him, lips curling up into a smile. “Where’s her diaper bag?”

“Uh, in the kitchen think? I assume at least seeing as it’s got her bottles and stuff in it too.”

“I’m glad to be back.” Though she’d been gone for a few months, the fae remained almost exactly the same. She still seeped innocence and looked at everything with a wide-eyed gaze.

“You look good. Glowy, almost.”

She felt her heart flutter painfully in her chest. God did she love that smirk. “Yeah. Right.” Carsyn bit her tongue to keep herself from commenting about how that could be them. Although now, she wasn’t sure if Dallon loved her, if he ever had or if he ever would.

Silence hung in the air like a thick smoke, suffocating. He wasn’t used to this. Feeling. Being the one who wanted it back. Karma, he silently guessed. “I think she might need a change”, the dark haired man said after a long silence. “You’re a little bit more ambidextrous then I am.”

Carsyn had crouched down to tickle Blair’s stomach, lips curling up into a smile. She’d always been the one to take care of her family; she’d always seen herself as having kids. Now, her baby fever was reignited. As Dallon spoke up, Carsyn glanced up at him with a soft shake of her head. “Don’t be gross, Markham.”

“Hey I’m just saying”, he said with his infamous smirk. “If someone kept me away from the girl I loved for that long, no one would see us for months.”
