starting to come to terms with the fact that i might actually have to cut my family off entirely. it’ll be a slow, painful process, but every time i visit my mom i feel like i want to throw myself off a building. She makes me do HER shit and clean up HER messes when i am a guest in HER HOUSE and i get jack shit for it soooo i hope she dies

i’ve been neglecting this more than i should. i got an apartment and a job and live alone now, and honestly i’ve never been happier. i also finally dumped twitter and switched to bluesky, which has been the best decision for my mental health since leaving home.

i work as a grocery store cashier. it’s part time and doesn’t pay much, but it’ll cover rent.

i don’t have internet yet, i’m getting it on friday.

i’ve never felt happier.

i have not posted here in a while. the service i have my counselor and psychiatrist through is able to prescribe HRT (testosterone in my case) and tomorrow im seeing my psychiatrist and im gonna ask her how we go about that because i DESPERATELY want to start

my only drawback is chances are i’ll get the shots and im so scared of needles but i think doing it myself will help

question for those with POTS as someone who was diagnosed recently: how do you manage your symptoms?

if you have chronic headaches from it like I do I'd recommend investing in an ice maker that you could put next to your desk so you can just dip a cup in and scoop out some ice to suck on. Helps the headache some.

haven’t posted here in a minute. some updates.

i applied for a volunteer position with a rescue farm for disabled animals as a caretaker.

i’m going to see if i can apply at the animal shelter.

someone reported me as a victim or witness to a crime and the DA contacted the shelter. i was told that if it was anything, i’d be told today, which i wasn’t, so i assume everything is ok.

shelter had a meeting because people were talking about others being mean and no one brought me up. i said if i came off as rude it’s just because im easily overwhelmed and i was assured that im very nice, just quiet.

Many orphans can be left a few hours to see if mom comes back...NOT OPOSSUMS! If you see a baby like this one in a yard or anywhere, get it quickly in a little box or pet carrier with a blanket and keep warm and call a wild life rescue. Momma opossum can have up to 13 babies. As they grow, they don't all fit in the pouch so they ride on her back. If something startles her and she runs, one can fall off. Momma doesn't know she lost one so please never ever leave one thinking mom will come back...

i think my favorite part about living in the mountains is the thunderstorms. when i lived in augusta and manassass, i didn’t get to experience them like that— the city drowns them out, they’re quiet yet chaotic, and we were taught to fear them.

but it’s different here. there’s no city to mask the sound, and there’s valleys and cliffs that make the thunder echo, so it’s less sudden, and more of a slow roar that comes and goes, shaking the floor and bed beneath you. there are exceptions if lightning strikes closer, then it’s an explosion that rolls out, but even then, what a beautiful, majestic sound that god granted me ears to hear, that god granted me a body to feel it in my bones.

idk if it's necessarily phantom limbs but i feel wings on my back and they flap when im happy?? it's weird. it's not something that i chose to have and i think it has to do with my source having wings but yea

feel a bit safer talking about random shit here than on my main blog. not that im problematic or anything i just have a lot of thoughts that my main followers wont give a shit about.

plus i was told to keep someplace where i talk about life in a lighter sense than i do on valkthelovedove (which is password-locked for a reason, that is my venting into the void blog and i'd rather no one see it unless i decide to post the posts from there on, like, my private twitter). my solution, obviously, instead of making a journal like a normal individual (because i have tried normal journals before and they don't work for me), i decided to make a blog where i will try to get in the habit of posting about what i did that day, no matter how small.

i'll also probably reblog things i like here-- aesthetic things, cute pigeons/doves, opossums (i LOOOOOOVE opossums). i'm gonna keep this blog lighter when possible

okay so. today!! my case advisor and i sat down to apply for medicaid, and apparently they couldn't verify my identity and i suspect that it has to do with the fact that i didn't use my old address (melanie's address) as my current address, i used the shelter's. hopefully if they call i can clarify that with them and avoid any potential legal issues that i don't deserve to deal with simply because my address changed to a temporary one.

i was also supposed to meet with someone from job corps to write my appeal for the (nonsensical) denial, but i assume things happened because the guy did not show or call. hopefully we can reschedule later, probably on monday or next friday-- sometime next week.

anyway my birthday is like a week away. yay!!
