the many different markings on tortoises are beautifully unique
The texas sage is blooming. I love the silvery foliage and the lavender blooms. Plus it’s an evergreen shrub.
The garden center is my favorite work, however there’s not much going on outside right now so I figured I’d show off some of the houseplants I handle. There’s too many to name and I rarely keep up with them- because I prefer being outside ;)
I haven’t had a shipment in weeks - all I do is trim what flowers and hope it grows out so someone purchases it - am also using a lot of shrubs where flowers used to be and backing that up with grasses. I suppose our next order will be mums in August - I suppose…
not sure if this is the same one (butterfly) I took a photo of earlier this week - the colors aren’t quite as vibrant but it was late in the afternoon and nothing is vibrant after noon🥵
Chrysothemis pulchella also known as sunset bells, black flamingo, copper leaf or simply chryothemis - a tropical plant that belongs to the family Gesneriaceae that include popular ornamental plants such as African violets and gloxinias.
stepped out with my pups this morning to find this hibiscus (she’s not quite awake yet)
I am not familiar with this monstera plant, it is supposedly rare- the price on it is $70. An employee at Home Depot brought it to my attention. She keeps up with all the rare and newest trend of plants. I’ve never given it much thought. I either like it or I don’t - although there are not many plants I don’t like… I have to say I was stunned at the price on it.
She also pointed out that not all these plants on the front endcap are the same $70 plant I need to be educated because I couldn’t tell the difference. I’ll have to go back and revisit that conversation.
my first sighting of a tiger swallowtail this season at work - it was so busy it was hard to capture all the markings on this beauty
The one pomegranate on my pomegranate tree :/
