It All Comes Crashing Down || Alice & Lucius
Alice knew what was going to happen as soon as Malfoy exploded the statue, shards flying, a big piece lodging itself in the giant. The roar was loud, even over all the noise and chaos. She saw some around them stop and panic at the sight of the hulking beast losing it’s balance and she cursed their stupidity before uttering a spell, knocking them out of the way. At the same time she didn’t think, pulling Lucius with her as she let out another curse, causing more debris to rain from the ceiling, forcing the giant down to it’s knees with a thundering sound, the ground trembling beneath it’s weight.
Their options were limited, it’s skin naturally resistant to magic and it’s weight causing it to fall forward in what almost seemed like slow-motion. Alice didn’t think, a charm escaping her lips as she moved a decapitated statue directly below the creature, hearing Lucius continue to utter curses, causing more explosions above the giant, trying to get off its legs. One particularly large piece of concrete hit it directly in it’s head and it stopped struggling, sending the rest of the giant crashing down. The jagged statue impaling it’s lower torso with the force of it’s decent. She hadn’t been expecting the impact, though, the force of it knocking everyone within it’s vicinity off their feet. She winced as her head hit the ground, glass lodging itself in her arms but scrambled up almost immediately.
"Lucius." Her head was ringing but she was still aware enough to know that the giant wasn’t dead yet and that this small window of unconsciousness was limited. "We need to get it’s chest. And head." She didn’t explain further, instead leading by example as she levitated another large piece of fallen ceiling mixed with metal bars over to the giant, preparing to let it impale it’s heart. If this beast was going to stay down, they’d have to make sure it wasn’t beating.
Lucius felt a bit annoyed that she pulled him along once more. She may have had the best intentions, but it was as if she didn't trust him with his own life. Nevertheless, he moved with her, out of the way of the falling giant. He hadn't thought Alice would finish destroying the now-deceased minister's property, but apparently everyone was looking to do as much damage as they could. At least the woman's spell towards the ceiling let a very large piece of stone fall on the monster. Lucius looked at the entire thing with a small amount of admiration before turning his attention back to the curses he was shooting out of his wand. He would have been perfectly content to let the giant lie there unconscious, but of course Alice had to be a hero.
Landing fairly hard on his elbow, Lucius winced at the slight pain after he fell over from the impact of the giant hitting the floor. A bruise would surely blossom there the next morning, to his great displeasure. He rose, still stumbling slightly from the sudden loss of balance. He held his arm gingerly before shaking himself and looking to Alice.
He did not want to be the responsible one here, but it was obvious if he wanted to continue looking for his father it may be easier to do with one less threat. Lucius coughed once before gripping his wand tightly and pointing it to a table mantle lying nearby. He levitated over the giant's head before walking forward. It would be grisly, but it was necessary. "Incendio." A stream of fire left his wand, coating the fabric and bursting into flames quite easily. Tired, Lucius turned to face Alice and nodded. She would complete this task, he was sure. Now, he had to find his father.
