I want to start a discussion. In light of all the claims of police brutality and especially the murder of George floyd, there obviously needs to be actual policy change. Do you think, that it should be legal for a citizen to interfere with police business if the citizen, within reason, fears for the life of themselves or others? To give an example, a public arrest is being made. The police arrest the suspect and during the arrest the put the arrested's life in danger, such as suffocating. If a bystander feels that the suspect's life is unnecessarily put into danger, should the bystand be allowed to intervene, to save the suspect's life? And if so, what are the boundaries? If you carry, can you shoot the officer? Can you use non lethal equipment? (For whatever reason you just happen to be carrying tear gas or beans bags or something) how would you justify that you felt the suspect's life was put into danger by the officer? Its not like the person (suspect) is dead (as you just saved a life) so how would we know if the suspect would have died? Interesting idea, I want to hear what others have to say on it.
