This is the last post for it's time for me to move onto other projects and badges (hopefully the gold award next). Thank you for all your support, it means a lot. Before I go, I'd like to propose a "challenge" of sorts; carry on kindness. Make your own posts about spreading kindness to others safely in these times. Maybe a fellow girl scout would like to carry this project on? (wink wink) Stay safe out there.
It's officially sweater weather! And flu season is just around the corner so here's some kindness tips for you.
Kindness tip: if you do get sick, be sure to drink fluids and get rest. This helps your body fight whatever illness you got. If someone you know is sick, try doing something nice for them while social distancing. You could see if they're up to video chat or have groceries delivered to them. If they get their mail delivered to them maybe send them a card or letter to let them know that you're thinking about them.
Kindness tip: the Earth is home to us and so many different types of wildlife. We all need to remember to be kind to our planet. So if you see trash on the ground help out by picking it up and throwing it away in the appropriate container.
Girl Scout Law connection: make the world a better place
An end to the series of drawings. I decided to do more pine trees instead of a moose.
Kindness tip: if you haven't seen a friend or family in a while, check on them. You can shoot them a text, but there can be misunderstandings so maybe give them a call instead.
Girl Scout Law connection: considerate and caring
Kindness tip: when you're angry or upset it can be very hard to use kind words. When you take it out on others it's not fair, so to prevent that take a moment to yourself. Take a couple of deep breaths, repeat a mantra, do whatever you need to do. Remember that you also need to be kind to yourself.
Inktober in the forest.
Kindness tip: if you're nice to your neighbors it can help make your neighborhood or wherever you live a better place. Offer to rake leaves, shovel snow, or invite them to have a cup of tea while sitting on your lawns (to social distance be safe out there). Especially if they have a medical condition that stops them from taking care of their home. I have many fond memories from my past neighbors and I hope they are all doing well.
Connects to the Girl Scout Law by being friendly and helpful.
First inktober post. Today's prompt was fish so I drew one but then I added the eye and thing got out of hand. I think it still looks good lol
I'll do the kindness tip separate from the art when it's an inktober post.
Fall has to be my favorite season. The leaves changing colors is such a pretty sight.
Kindness tip: there are lots of ways to let people know you care about them. I like to write a special message in their birthday cards. Or you could send a card if floats your boat better.
Kindness tip: if you have a friend who's struggling in a subject in school help out if you can. I find that if a peer teaches me we both do better on the test.
Today has been bit of a weird day so I did photography instead of painting.
Kindness tip: if someone you know is having a hard time shoot them a text or call them to make sure they're okay. It doesn't even have to be someone who know very well.
Today I drew a bird's eye view of a whale shark.
Kindness tip: let your family and/or friends know you appreciate them.
You are stronger than you think.
Today I focused on the pine trees from the original sketch. I used hatching for it and I might possibly try the original sketch in pencil before moving to paint.
Kindness tip: when being a kind person, laughter appears to be a big part of it. So to spread laughter try telling a joke. Make sure it's appropriate for your audience.
I went out on a walk this evening. I might recreate this in a different medium idk yet.
Kindness tip: it's so important to be nice especially those who are baristas, cashiers, waiters/waitresses, etc. So maybe leave them a nice note like "Have a great day :)" with your tip.
This is the first sketch of a new painting I'm doing. I think it'll be in acrylic but I don't know quite yet. Kindness tip: staying in touch can be a challenge. Maybe switch things up by writing a letter to your friend and/or family. It's always nice to receive something in the mail other than bills.
