The perfect pair, as every other CARAT called them. Hoshi and Woozi had as much, if not more chemistry than the average couple on the streets. When the announcement of their duo album was revealed, the internet blew up into both chaos and joy.
And there they were, at the photoshoot area, preparing for the comeback photos. These were the photos to be added to their photo book in the BEAM album. They wanted to make it look as good as possible.Â
The staff were setting up each and every location and furniture in front of their eyes. Hoshi was having his make up done while Woozi just sat there waiting patiently.
When the make up artist got up to go get something, Woozi felt a bit mischievous, deciding to get up and sneak behind Hoshi. His blonde hair was undone, so Woozi began to lightly take a few strands and braided them.
“Is Jihoon-ah doing my hair?~ That’s a new start!” Hoshi teased, leaning back into Woozi’s touch as he let him do his hair. Woozi just sighed softly before continuing.
“Don’t expect them to keep it in the shoot though,” Woozi responded inaudibly, finishing the final touches before admiring his work.
Hoshi’s hair actually turned out quite well! So well, in fact, that the hair stylists on the other side were flabbergasted by how it looked. The director and another staff quietly discussed a few things before telling the duo they’d keep Hoshi’s hairstyle like that—as long as no one knew who did it for him.
“Seriously? Well, fine...” Woozi hummed as the photoshoot began. Both of them had extremely attractive shoots and sometimes chaotic behind the scenes moments, including one where they couldn’t stop laughing for a good 5 minutes.
As the experience came to an end, Hoshi suddenly sprinted over to Woozi, who was already planning to leave and go back to the main building.
“Jihoon-ah… Can we at least do something after all that? I’m tired… Maybe cuddles? Or just listening to music…” Hoshi whined as he began to cling onto Woozi. The only response was a quiet nod before the duo left the building.

“Hurry up, Jihoon! It’s raining already!” Seungcheol yelled playfully, watching Jihoon frantically run to him as the rain started pouring. Jihoon, on the other hand, was carrying his backpack and only managed to get cover just in time by speeding to the school gates.
Seungcheol followed from behind, laughing heartily as he put his hands into his pockets. “C’mon Jihoon! A little rain won’t hurt you,” he teased before entering the school building in sync.
As the duo made their way down the bustling hallways of students, almost everyone kept glancing and whispering or giggling with their eyes fixed on them.
It was a well known fact to the entire school, including the professors— that Jihoon and Seungcheol’s dynamic was far from just friendly and chill.
They were in love, and it was obvious… too obvious in fact. This has caused certain students—who had crushes on one or the other, to feel immense jealousy. But did they ever care about that? Absolutely not, and they never will. Because in their world, it’s only them and no one else.
“Jihoon! Seungcheol! Over here!” Soonyoung shouted, jumping up and down like a child who had been given too many sweets. Beside him was Joshua, a calm student with a deer-like face and brains, who was both fortunate and unfortunate to be Soonyoung’s closest friend. Although they were complete opposites— it was clear they got along quite well, especially in Jihoon’s eyes.
“Coming! Hurry up, Jihoon-ah~” Seungcheol chuckled, dragging the shorter boy along with him over to their close friends. As a result of this terrifyingly close proximity,
Jihoon could notice how the lights accentuated Seungcheol’s unique features, making him slightly go red. He just pretended to not focus on it and instead let himself get dragged by Seungcheol to the others.
...
It was so unexpected. He could've at least gave him a warning or notice about it.
Jihoon had gotten accepted for a producer role at a big music company, and everyone—including Seungcheol of course, was joyful. The issue? The company had ONE single rule: no dating. This caused a difficult choice for Jihoon. Either don't do the job and continue his studies while being with Seungcheol, or accept the job but break up with him.
Jihoon chose the latter.
Seungcheol stood there under the cherry blossom tree facing Jihoon, who had a look of guilt in his eyes and was fidgeting nervously.
"I'm sorry Seungcheol..."
"But why?"
"Just..."
"Was it that necessary?" Seungcheol asked, his gaze piercing into Jihoon's soul. The atmosphere was uneasy and saddening. How would everyone else react? No, how would they continue on?
Seungcheol had no words for a good while. He couldn't really comprehend what was going on.
"...Fine then, it's your choice I suppose," he said, turning around to leave the hill and go back home.
Silence engulfed them for a long, very long time. It was deafening. The sunset was so lovely, yet whatever just happened was the complete opposite of that.
"Wait! Seungcheol!"
"...Hm?"
"I love you."
"...I love you too."
