I went to a cat café with my dad and there was this kid that kept smacking the poor cats with a toy while the parents just watched or said "be careful" or smt without doing anything so when a cat hid under our table and the kid began to hit him my dad grabbed the toy and told her to be gentle but my dad has an asshole face so it came out sort of intimidating and the mother looked PISSED but she couldn't say anything because she knew she was totally in the wrong

I wish I could tell my past self who didn't know why she was so depressed cause she "had nothing to be sad about" that I had my therapist holding back tears today when we talked about my upbringing. The same experiences she saw as normal and "not a big deal" made an experienced mental health professional so upset se almost cried.
