It’s not what was winning the “what pattern to share next” poll but it did turn out I’d already done like 95% of the work needed to share the pattern like…years ago so I went ahead and shared it since it was easy to do so As always, if the timestamp on this reblog isn’t super recent, it’s worth clicking through to the original post, I’ll update it every time I share another pattern here on tumblr. Wait sorry I need to complain for a min

So like I was all set to finish editing and transcribing these chapters by Wednesday I like planned it out so I wouldnt get burnt out or push myself too hard bc 31 chapter is a lot right? But its not fair for the people waiting to keep pushing it off, and ill be away for the weekend which is when I get most things done.

And it takes like a half hour just to do one chapter and sitting for long periods of time is HARD, and it HURTS and I want to cry. (I'm fine my shoulders are sore bc I dont know how to sit properly.) So I planned it right, if I work on a little at a time I can get it done by Wednesday (actually I had initially planned for Thursday but were getting there.)

And then

Fucking everything needs to be done before I leave: birthday dinner for my partners youngest brother, have surprise thing for my besties birthday i need to prepare - both on Thursday. So fine I push it back a day.

Am reminded ttrpg game is this Tuesday, amd partner suddenly wants to clean the apartment before I leave.

I leave friday morning

I basically have to get all 31 chapters done BY TOMORROW

i guess the thing is that when people talk about how e.g. cheating in college doesn't actually matter, there's this implicit assumption that the credentials are worthless. like nobody would say "yeah it's nbd if my airplane pilot bribed their test instructor to let them skip the test, do what you need to do to survive under capitalism" because there's an obvious sense in which a bad pilot will kill you. and obviously not all degrees are safety critical but like, it rarely feels like the conversation about e.g. AI usage on homework gets into that level of nuance?

#take from someone who cheated in college:#it really did not matter #i cheated on my maths final as an english major #had i actually graduated (pandemic and instructors kinda fucked that)#my career prospects would have been in journalism social media management etc.#basically digital communication and content #a lot of undergrad classes are just there because its “higher learning” than trade school #someone sat down and decided that learning these things put you in a class abive the average person #who only graduated highschool #and obviously the schools have a monetary incentive to force you to enroll in them #it is unlikely a pilot will ever need to know how to build a website #but also yiu dont need a college degree to be a pilot (at least in the us)#you can literally get a pilots license at age 16
