Development of OrderlyPrint V2 has begun!

We are happy to let you in on a little secret, development has begun on OrderlyPrint version 2 this past month ;)

We don’t want to give away too much just yet, but let me tell you it’s going to be everything that OrderlyPrint v1 is, just much more awesome. Easier designing of documents, full customisation capabilities, and you’ll be able to create your own document types. Plus it’ll be faster and easier to use.

We’ll also be de-coupling a lot of our services from Shopify, so we’ll be taking care of authentication, payments and order processing within the OrderlyPrint v2 app itself. This will give us a solid foundation to do great things in the future, and expand to other e-commerce platforms.

We thought we’d celebrate the New Year by releasing some further updates to OrderlyPrint, which will make your printing and processing of orders even easier.

It’s our gift to you, as thanks for a great 2012!

EXPORT ORDERS

For those of you with the Bulk Print & Fulfillment Plan, you can now also Export your orders as either a CSV file or an Excel file.

The file exported will contain the information as seen on the Dashboard order list, and is a great way to quickly import these details into other systems.

This is just the start of this new feature, and we’ll soon be adding additional export information to the files.

  FILTER VIA DATE RANGES

You can now more precisely select which orders you would like to view based on when they were created.

This new control allows you to not only select orders based on pre-defined time frames but also on specific date ranges.

SHIFT SELECTION OF ORDERS

It’s now possible to select & deselect ranges of orders on the Dashboard by using the Shift key on your keyboard.

This will greatly improve the speed you can select which orders you would like to process.

You simply click on the first order’s check box, hold down the shift key on your keyboard and then click on the last check box in the range. Every order in between will be automatically selected/deselected.

AUTO-ADDRESS FORMATTING

The app will now automatically format the Address information based on the country of the address.

This means that the Postal Code, City/State information will match what is expected in each individual country. For example:

Europe Address Zip, City

UK Address City ZIP

US & AU Address City, State ZIP

UPLOAD OF LOGO

We’ve also made it easier to include your logo on invoices & packing slips. You can now upload your logo file directly from the Settings page, so there is no need to have the file hosted on Shopify any longer.

This also solves a problem we were seeing where the logo would not always show on the documents.

We recommend all existing users upload their logo within the app for best results.

FULFILLMENT PROCESSING

The fulfillment processing functionality has been improved, ensuring that large sets of orders can be fulfilled with greater success. We were seeing failures in some cases where Shopify would reject fulfillment requests due to too many API calls in short time periods, this fix solves those issues. LIMIT OF 250 ORDERS AT A TIME

We’ve reduced the amount of orders you can process at a time from 500 to 250. This will greatly improve the stability of the app overall, and ensure that documents are created in a timely fashion. I know this may be a step backward for a few users, but it’s for the greater good of all users and a necessary change to ensure we give the most stable service possible.

SETTINGS PAGE LAYOUT

The Settings page was growing quite long (we like to provide you with customization options), so we’ve improved the layout and grouped the functions into an easier to navigate format. Hope you like it.

Give us a quick review in the Shopify Apps Store (http://apps.shopify.com/orderlyprint/) now. Just click the link, scroll down the page and press the “Write Review” button. It ensures a small developer like us keeps new users coming on-board and we can continue to add new features for you.

OrderlyPrint - October Newsletter

Just a quick email regarding some of the enhancements we have pushed out to OrderlyPrint over the past little while. All features listed below are available to you already today, and have been added to your app automatically.. so enjoy :)

FULFILLMENT ADD-ON

For those of you with the Bulk Print & Fulfillment Plan, there are now 2 new Fulfillment options on the Settings page for you to save time and hassles:

Shipping Carrier: It is now possible to select the Shipping Carrier that your goods are being shipped with when making fulfillments and adding tracking numbers. You can set your “default” shipping carrier in the Settings, and they can be adjusted for individual orders on the actual Fulfillment page, as necessary.

Close Fulfilled Orders: You can now also have the app update your orders status to “Closed” once all of the items on the order have been fulfilled. This allows you to better manage your orders, keeping track of which orders are done and which need more attention.

  LINE ITEM PROPERTIES

Shopify’s new Line Item Properties have now been fully integrated into the application. So if you use these within your products they will automatically show up within OrderlyPrint and on the printed documents.

  RETURN FORMS

It’s now possible to include Return Forms to be printed with each of your Invoices & Packing slips.

To activate the feature, simply go to the Settings page and activate the checkmark on the Return Forms section. Once activated, each time you print an invoice or packing slip each order will be followed by a matching return form for that order, pre-filled with the order and product details etc.

You can also translate the document or just change wording from the Settings page.

As I don’t process return forms myself on any regualr basis, feedback is more than welcome on how this document can be made better, so send the suggestions through by replying to this email ;)

NEW DESIGN

As you would have noticed, the app got a bit of a facelift earlier this month. We have freed up some more working room, and (hopefully) made the app a little more pleasing to the eye.

OrderlyPrint - September Newsletter

I’m very excited to announce that we are releasing further enhancements to the OrderlyPrint app this Monday!

We’re adding a new search function, we’ve updated our login/authorization mechanism… and most exciting of all we’re adding a new Bulk Fulfillment plan so you can save even more time each day, and give an even more awesome shopping experiece to your customers.

P.S. On your 1st login to the app after the upgrade takes place, you will be asked by Shopify to re-authorize the app (so we can still access your Shopify orders etc.) due to the login/authentication updates we have made. It takes about 3 seconds and is just the click of a “Authorize” button on a Shopify page. This re-authorization does not affect your Orders, Account Charges… or other app Settings in any way.

NEW PLAN: BULK PRINT & FULFILLMENT

We’re quite happy with the amount of time that OrderlyPrint saves store owners already with printing, but we felt that there were places where even more time can be saved. Fulfilling orders and sending off tracking numbers and confirmation email one at a time, is one such time consuming repeditive task.. so we decided to supercharge it as well!

Our new Bulk Fulfillment feature let’s you fulfill hundreds of orders with a single click. You can add tracking numbers and choose if the customer should be notified via email of the shipped goods. The email sent is the standard shipment notification from your Shopify store so everything is ready to go already. The tracking number will be included in the emails automatically if added, and a link is provided to your customer to the shipping carriers tracking information.

You can even select if the entire orders should be fulfilled at once, or select individual items in the order to fulfill seperately as necessary.

We can see hours of additional time savings with this one, and you’re customers will appreciate the extra information and trust that comes with shipment notifications.

The complete package of the Bulk Print functions (the ones you have today) + the new Bulk Fulfillment functions is just $8.99/month, for everything.

NOTE: The price will increase to $9.99/month on October 1st 2012. We wanted to reward our existing customers (you!) with the possibility to upgrade at a reduced rate before setting the price at it’s actual rate.

So here’s how you can upgrade your OrderlyPrint on Monday.

1. Login to OrderlyPrint 2. Click on the “Plans” tab in the top menu 3. Click on the “Install” button on the “Awesome Timesaver Plan” (Bulk Print & Fulfillment) 4. Confirm the charge to Shopify 4. That’s it. it’s active right away and you can start fulfilling orders and notifying customers of shipments.

You can of course upgrade/downgrade at any time you choose. Any unused time on your current plan will be pro-rated automatically by Shopify.

P.S. There’s no limits on use, and no extra charges because you have lots of orders.. just one flat monthly fee for Bulk Print & Fulfillment goodness. Our competitors will not like this ;)

New Login Authentication

We’ve updated OrderlyPrint to use Shopify’s newest app login authentication system.

This means that we now only have access to the things we need, instead of having access to everything like Shopify gave us before. This is great for security on all sides. Read/Write Orders: This is needed so we can create your order print documents. Write access is only used when fulfilling orders.

Read Theme Templates: This is needed so we can access your Logo image file, to display it on your invoices & packing slips. As we only have Read access we cannot modify your themes or assets in any way.

Search Orders

We’ve made searching orders for particular information even easier for you.

On the Dashboard you will find a “Search” field just above your orders, allowing you to quickly filter though the displayed orders.

You can type any word into the searhc box, and then only orders that contain that word will be shown. The seach takes place on the Order Number, Product Information, Variant Information, Quantity, Customer Notes and Discount columns.

This feature has been requested many times, so we’re happy to get it out there. _________________________________________________________

Order Selection

I’ve now included the most request feature since launch. It allows you to further refine the orders to be included in your prints via check boxes on the Dashboard screen. This means you can print just a single order, all orders, or any selection of the displayed orders as needed. This was a big one, and certainly worth it.

Address Labels

No more wasted label sheets. The application now allows you to set which label it should start printing at, and we’ll even keep track of it for you automatically. This ensures partially used label sheets can be continued and will save you money and time. You’ll notice the little counter next to the Print Labels button, it will update automatically or can be manually set.

Ps. You can now also select the font to be used on your labels in the Settings section ;)

Invoices & Packing Slips

Many store owners need a different Shops name or address on their Invoices & Packing Slips than what Shopify uses. So I’ve made it possible for you to completely customize the Shop Name and Address on these documents. Just take a look at the Settings section, and use as needed. Ps. We’re also working on adding more pre-made designs to the Help section, keep an eye out for new additions.

Upgraded Web Server

Not a feature as such, but worth mentioning anyway. OrderlyPrint will now run on a new technology web server which allows for more users at the same time, with better performance.

OrderlyPrint – April Newsletter

OrderlyPrint will be upgraded on Tuesday 10th April

We’re happy to announce that we have listened to your feedback and made further enhancements to the OrderlyPrint app!

The update will automatically be applied to your account, so you don’t have to do anything to enjoy the new features. The app will be down for about 15 seconds during the upgrade.

  CSS Styling of Documents

We have exposed much of the CSS used to style your documents in the Settings section of the application. Simply adjust the font, colors or other elements to your hearts content and voila, they will be used in both the on-screen display of your documents and the printed version.

  Word Replacement/Translation

You can now select what the wording should be for each static word in the documents. This means that the documents can now support any language, as well as allowing you to put your own personality into the texts.

  Custom Messages

You can now easily add a custom message to be displayed on each Invoice and Packing Slip. This is a great way to thank your customers, or add essential terms and conditions. Simple HTML tags are supported so you can futher customize the message.

  Product Summary in Picking Lists

In the Picking List document we have added a summary section to the top, so that you can quickly see the total quantity needed of each product for all orders listed. This should save loads of time when collecting the items from your storage area.
