okay but if you think about it, newt going “and where do you think you’re going?” to thomas in the dark is actually fucking HILARIOUS lmao think about it

how long has newt been standing there? 5 mins? 20 mins? 1 HOUR? imagine there being no clock around. newt can’t check how long he’s been waiting for thomas to arrive, so he just stands there in the dark with a hand on the lamp switch. LISTEN. he could’ve just waited there with the light on, but no. he waited in the dark for the Element of Surprise™️ which is ICONIC

newt probably practiced his line multiple times just bc it was taking so long for thomas to get there. frypan would comment on his lines from time to time, too. ( “hey, fry? what if i say ‘and where are you going?’” “too short. try something else.” “thanks, fry.”)

and because thomas is taking so goddamn long to arrive, frypan, who’s in the car, can’t help but peek out of the vehicle every now and then. (“is he here yet?” “well, does it look like he’s here?” “jesus. you’d think for a runner he’d be here by now.”)

that scene is 10/10 brilliant especially when you consider this
