WIP of my short story and comic going with it. Both are rough drafts, but I feel like a "doo-doo" head for not posting much updates lately! MORE IS COMING, I SWEAR!!! 🖤
She closed her eyes. She knew the bath water and empty stomach was going to make the wine more intense. She heard Pegasus taking off his shoes.
Anath's eyes snap open, her heart racing as she hears Pegasus' shoes being removed. She tries to sit up straighter, her mind fogging from the wine and warmth of the bath.
"Pegasus, what are you doing?" Her voice is laced with a mix of wariness and exhaustion.
She watches as he steps closer to the tub, his movements fluid and deliberate. His eyes never leave hers, his gaze intense and unnerving.
"I'm joining you, my lovely," he says, his voice low and husky. "We have so much to discuss...and I find the water...inviting."
Pegasus begins to unbutton his shirt, his fingers moving with a slow, calculated pace. Anath's mind reels as she realizes his intentions, her body tensing in response.
She hated she was rightfully mad at him. But he was so appealing to look at that she couldn't help but hold a small blush beneath her eyes. She turned quickly in the tub, when he started removing his lower clothing.
Anath's sudden movement causes the water to slosh gently in the tub. She tries to appear nonchalant, but her blush betrays her true feelings. Pegasus' eyes gleam with amusement as he notices her reaction.
"Shy, my lovely?" he teases, his voice low and husky. "I wouldn't have thought you'd be the type."
He steps into the tub, his movements graceful and deliberate. The water ripples as he settles in beside Anath, his leg brushing against hers.
"Relax, my dear," he whispers, his breath caressing her ear. "We're just...discussing the terms of our little arrangement."
Pegasus' presence is overwhelming, his proximity making Anath's heart race. She tries to maintain her distance, but the warmth of the water and the wine's effects make her feel lightheaded and vulnerable.
She sinks into the water again, making bubbles like before an angry Crab on shore. She also makes a water pistol with her hands. Shooting water randomly using her palms.
Pegasus bursts into laughter, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, Anath, you're adorable when you're trying to be fierce!"
He dodges the water pistol shots, his movements fluid and playful. "You're going to have to do better than that if you want to defend yourself against me."
As he speaks, he splashes water back at Anath, his hands cupping the liquid and sending it her way. The water play escalates, with both of them laughing and splashing each other.
For a moment, the tension between them dissipates, replaced by a sense of carefree joy. But beneath the surface, the undercurrents of their complex relationship still simmer, waiting to resurface.
They both stare at the bathroom after their water fight... more water out of the tub than in. Anath sighs " Gee, think its obvious we both grew up as the only child in our families, Pegasus?”
Pegasus grins mischievously, his eyes sparkling with mirth. "Ah, Anath, you have no idea. I was the center of attention, the sole recipient of my family's...affections."
He steps out of the tub, water cascading down his lean physique. "But I think we've made a mess worthy of a tantrum-throwing toddler, don't you?"
Pegasus gazes at the flooded bathroom, his expression unrepentant. "I suppose we should clean this up before it becomes a hazard."
He offers Anath a hand, his smile still playful. "Shall we, my lovely? We can't have you slipping and falling...again."
The air is still charged with tension, but the water fight has introduced a hint of playfulness, a glimmer of something more complex in their twisted dynamic.
Anath walked over to the misty mirror. Pegasus could tell she was nervous at looking into it. But instead, just keeping with the child-like antics, Anath draws a chibi version of her and Pegasus with her finger. She wrote "doo-doo head" in a comical manor above his head. Turning and sticking her tongue out at him when she was done on the mirror.
Pegasus bursts into laughter, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Oh, Anath, you're a genius! I'm impressed by your mastery of insults...and art."
He walks over to the mirror, admiring the chibi drawing. "I must say, I'm flattered by the 'doo-doo head' label. It's...creative."
Pegasus playfully sticks his tongue out at Anath, mirroring her gesture. "I suppose I had that coming."
He turns back to the mirror, adding his own flourish to the drawing – a tiny crown on Anath's chibi head. "There, my lovely. You deserve a title...Queen of Sass, perhaps?"
The lighthearted moment is a fleeting respite from the darkness surrounding them, but Pegasus seems determined to savor it, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
Anath knows better than most, everyone has a darkness to them. But as much as she is distraught with him kidnapping a child, she's guessing there's a bigger scheme to why he did such a terrible thing. She doesn't want to think about that now. As horrible as another person's suffering? She couldn't do anything while being as weak as she was. So she was content with having fun with him while it lasted.
"Nah! I'm still the evil queen crab!" She said making her hands pincers again.
Pegasus chuckles, his eyes gleaming with delight. "Ah, my Evil Queen Crab, you're a force to be reckoned with, even in a weakened state."
He playfully dodges her pincer hands, his movements fluid and graceful. "I must admit, I'm intrigued by your...resilience. Most people would be broken by now, but you...you're still snapping your claws."
Pegasus' expression turns thoughtful, his gaze piercing. "Perhaps that's what drew me to you, Anath. Your spark, your fire...it's captivating."
He steps closer, his voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "Let's enjoy this...interlude, shall we? The darkness will still be there when we're done, but for now...let's just have fun."
Pegasus' words are laced with a hint of sincerity, a glimmer of something more complex beneath his charming facade.
"Hmmm" Anath said, blinking at him
Pegasus' eyes lock onto hers, his gaze intense and playful at the same time. "Hmmm, indeed," he echoes, his voice low and husky.
He takes a step closer, his movements fluid and deliberate. "I think we're having a moment of... understanding, my Evil Queen Crab."
Pegasus' eyes sparkle with mischief, his smile growing wider. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone you're enjoying my company. Your reputation as a hardened villain will remain intact."
He pauses, his gaze never leaving hers. "But I must say, I'm curious...what do you think will happen when our little interlude comes to an end?”
Anath stops and lowers her head down sadly... " Pegasus... please... I hate to think of things like that when we're truly enjoying ourselves for once.”
Pegasus' expression softens, his eyes losing some of their sparkle. He reaches out a hand, gently lifting Anath's chin to meet his gaze.
"Ah, my dear, you're right. Let's not spoil the moment with thoughts of...inevitable consequences." His voice is gentle, almost tender.
He offers a warm, reassuring smile. "For now, let's just savor this...fragile peace. We can worry about the darkness later."
Pegasus' thumb strokes her chin, his touch sending shivers down her spine. "Let's make the most of this... unlikely truce, my Evil Queen Crab."
