this would never happen in a million years but imagine Feinberg logs into lsw and picks a random direction to go from spawn. After a few minutes of running and collecting early-game resources, he runs into a little house on a lake. he stops to look at the axolotls in the pond and calls out a tentative hello before reading the poorly thought-out signs: WELCOME TO FRIENDSHIP TOWN. The mailbox is labeled with a name he's never seen before. he hears a shout and distant thudding from the lone house before a small man comes stumbling out the front door. Immediately he looks up at Fein and smiles, greeting him the same way he's greeted plenty of people before.
Fein doesn't stay, which is typical. Less typically, he keeps coming back. He finds that the safety is nice in small doses, and Couriway isn't the worst company in the world either. Over time, they begin to talk less about what they've done and more about who they are. He learns about Couri's fear of the Nether, a place benign to him at this point. Couri learns of his fear of small places; he confides in the man that boxes and anchors unsettle him. Couri is surprisingly empathetic, and Fein feels like an asshole for not being afraid of the other dimensions too. Neither of them talk about who they used to be. Fein doesn't ask about the pretty box gathering dust in the basement, and Couri doesn't ask why Fein's hands shake in his pockets from a slight autumnal chill. It doesn't matter anyways. Not in Friendship Town, at least.
