im so tired im sorry but think abt the gay potential. theres seemingly civilian injuries and the ability to be fully physically vulnerable for one. no suspicious wraps or damaged feathers. it isnt painful for couri to keep them away. the reveal isnt out of necessity or for survival or even for comfort. he just wants to. he's ready. hes reasonably afraid that fein will be upset. not about this part of him existing at all, rather the lies he had to tell to keep fein away from everything. and then couri comes to find out that there was never any secret at all and that fein always loved every part of him. that he was always capable of being part of all of his life. that he was just waiting until couri decided it was the right time to share it with him. couri can hardly process it. it isn't as big a deal to fein who processed it all fully a long time ago and has also been actively participating in and engaging with that aspect of couri's world. but couri hasnt quite had all that time. its overwhelmingly positive and he doesn't know what to do with it.
and then he slowly realizes fein has been screwing with him for ages and he feels a lot more normal. he knocks him over the head with a wing and a feather gets stuck in fein's hair. couri doesnt tell him. it hits fein later when he walks out of the bedroom in the morning and sees couri just sitting there eating breakfast in his sleep clothes, wings resting heavily behind him. it strikes him how normal it looks.
