When the dream comes true

You can't see her, not yet, but you know that she's there. Behind the curtains, at the end of the long line of people waiting to live their dream. Some of them come out, and the emotions springing out from their faces voice an endless speech of mute words. You can't see her, and you can't believe she's there. Not yet. Not after uncountable efforts and so many tears. But you know she is. And at some point, when you're still too far and yet too close to your moment, you can finally look at her. She's beautiful, more that you could even imagine. She's smiling in a way that could enlighten the world. She's real. Her face, her body, her hands you're used to see on a screen, are real. And before you can process this, you are next to her, getting lost in her bright eyes. You try to talk, but you've just forgotten how to do it. You surround her with your arm and smile at the camera, discovering that it's incredibly easy. She thanks you and tells you to have fun. You'd like to answer, but all the words in the vocabulary wouldn't be enough to express how you feel. And hoping that your eyes will speak for you, you say goodbye. It's a moment she won't even remember, but you will, for your whole life. And it's ok. Great loves aren't always meant to be returned; some of them just need to be given.

Dedicated to all the people who met Jen for the first time and those who are still trying. Never give up on your dreams, because one day they'll come true.

Emma’s 1st love vs her True Love

It all started in Tallahassee when we see Emma’s first romance come to an awful end and the hint of a new romance with someone new begin. Killian is proven to be what Emma needed and stands in direct contrast to Neal’s presence in her life.

When Neal got word he could return for Emma, he chose to stay away.

When an opportunity presented itself to return to Emma, Killian took it without question.

Neal’s fear of rejection & fear of his father was greater than his belief in love.

Killian feared losing Emma & kept a secret that led to him being pushed into a portal. He traded his ship AGAIN to return to Emma & face his past.

While Neal was separated from Emma, he found a fiancé.

While Killian was separated from Emma, he didn’t even have the heart to be with a paid prostitute.

Neal doesn’t believe in her super powers. In fact, he laughs in her face.

Killian always believes in her. He loves every part of her. Including her magic.

Neal couldn’t believe that Emma had used magic to capture Pan? He knows who she is.

Killian embraces the magic inside of her.

Neal accuses her of being emotional. He doesn’t trust her judgement.

Killian trusts in Emma’s instincts. He encourages her to use them.

There was also that time in the Underworld:

Emma: I know it sounds crazy, but I can remember every detail. It would be a long shot, but… Hook: Well, as for “maybe"s and “hopefully"s, I’ve learned never to question yours. I’m coming with you.

Neal doubts that she’s capable. He questions her abilities.

Killian always believes in her.

More instances of Killian believing in Emma and even more of him believing in Emma.

Neal says he won’t stop fighting for Emma but only after his fiancé is dead? After his father is gone? Why now? He had his chance.

Killian says he will fight for the both of them & has proven it. He never gave up when she was trapped in ice, cursed or separated by realms.

Neal wouldn’t face his father for her. “If she breaks the curse, my father’s gonna remember who he is and come looking for me”

Killian knew the evil that faced him Neverland and he went anyway. For Emma. For her family. He defied Pan for them. He faced the Dark Ones for her. He’s stood by her side.

Neal added bricks to the wall around Emma’s heart when he abandoned her and left her to pay for his crimes.

If I helped take off that armor, don’t… put it back on just because you’re gonna lose me.

Killian was the one to break her walls down by showing her that she could depend on him. Trust in him. That he loved her for who she was. Completely.

Neal thinks that becoming her partner in crime is the best thing? He’s also about to let her take the fall for his crime.

Killian recognizes the change Emma inspired in him & how they’ve made each other better by breaking down walls & seeing the best in each other & in others

Neal definitely wasn’t her true love or her future. It’s interesting the way Killian is like an anti-parallel to Neal. Emma put walls up because of Neal & being abandoned. Emma’s walls came down because of Killian.
