We need more mayhem.
All works for free available.
I am still alive, that's the great news here ;) Due involvement in some other projects and interests, I've postponed my work on the next piece for ORO and all activities regarding the project until the next year.
Anyway, I wish you all an unholy or holy Xmas, a good time with your family and friends and good health and riches beyond money for the next year. PAN Kurios!
Note: for my remix I used an picture of Tamara Grigorieva, as the Nymph in L'Apres-midi d'un faune, Ballets Russes, probably shot somewhere in the 30s.
2 track album
1st track of a new little side-project, based on some experiments for the last ORO record - but things went a little rough ;)
A few words about my works: from the very first beginning of the project I tried to find and capture that one sweet spot, that one precious moment, that stops the storm that originates in our minds - it is a quest after the one frozen crystal, that captures and holds the wheel that usually rotates and spins forever and ever in our heads, that wheel, that is driven by the past and the future, and therefore by the construct, we call ego.
As I followed the path of this approach and intentions more and more consequently, the role models or influences for my works are less to find in other bands/projects from the vast and impressive kingdom of (Ritual) Dark Ambient, but rather in traditional chants and mantras of Tibetan monks or of tantric ancestry, in "white noise", in the sound of church bells or the voice of a river, or in the fine binaural beats and soundscapes made of certain frequencies that support us in our search for lucid dreams and astral travel, or for a moment of deep silence: in short, a soothing and calming sphere of sounds I aspire to achieve.
In this regard, my latest work "Sternenschauer" is maybe the most consistent and therefore monotonous work of ORO as it finally leaves behind all ordinary song structures and no longer claims to be "songs" but rather keys to other forms or states of consciousness. In a kind of alchemistical process, I experimented with many different ingredients - many times the experiment failed (nevertheless I learned a lot in failing), those three tracks of the EP are "survivors" of that process.
And last but not least: all my works refer to the one great mystery, the greatest of all, which, according to the voice of my heart, is not the miracle of life, but death only.
3 track album
With Sternenschauer the 3rd cycle is complete. For the cover-artwork, I used again a fantastic pic of a scene from Maurice Maeterlinck's The Blue Bird at the Moscow Art Theatre, 1908.
4 track album
Nothing was. Nothing is. Nothing becomes.
Available for free listening and download on SoundCloud: Echokammer III - Rising Serpent (Nanahama) by ORO IBAH AOZPI.
The release of the whole record “Echokammer” follows next Friday, November 02, 2018 on Bandcamp.
Finally, some news here - the 1st track of the new ORO record called Echokammer (echo chamber) will be published this Friday (26th October) on Bandcamp and SoundCloud. The whole record follows a week later.
What to expect!? Extremely reduced dark ambient drones and soundscapes, which hopefully accompany your mind to silence and your soul to somewhere else:
Nothing was. Nothing is. Nothing becomes.
Note: the pic is the final artwork for the new record. The original pic shows actress Alexandra Rebikova, playing "Milk" in Maurice Maeterlinck's The Blue Bird at the Moscow Art Theatre, 1908; scan from the personal archive of the heirs.
Experimenting and working on the art for my next record. I call that piece: At the First Gate of KUR.
The original pic shows the actress Maria Germanova as the witch in l'oiseau bleu (The Blue Bird), a play by Belgian author Maurice Maeterlinck. It premiered in 1908 at the Moscow art theatre.
Since a few days, I am actively working on new material for ORO IBAH AOZPI.
I am also planning to make this time on top an analog output - a cd with some artworks and written meditations supporting the "tone" of my tracks I got in mind - a blackened mass for the eye, the ear, the heart, and the mind.
This would be a kind of climax and a worthy conclusion of the adventure of ORO, as the 3rd cycle will maybe be the last and concluding output of "He who cries aloud in the place of desolation".
Till I got new material ready be invited to listen to and download my old “stuff”: https://oroibahaozpi.bandcamp.com/
The pic I remixed shows the goddess Theda Bara as Salomé in the silent movie with the same title from 1918, directed by J. Gordon Edwards.
At the moment ORO IBAH AOZPI is on a hold, but of course, new ideas and materials are flooding in and I am preparing myself for the next ride. I guess, a good date to start the work on the next record will be the coming equinox.
Besides some very small amount of preparatory work on the musical side, I do some experimenting regarding the artwork: the photos for this series (which I named for rather obvious reasons The Red Hand) were mostly taken in my hometown on an old graveyard with medieval origins. One of the few places in an industrial city where I can sense some kind of magickal or otherworldly energy.
“Burn the cloud but without moving the columns in their foundations!”
Spirit of Methuselah
This is the artwork for the upcoming record (the title still must be held in secrecy). The original photo shows us Sada Yacco as Ophelia, Japan, 1904. Sada Yacco is the alias/stage name of the actress and dancer Kawakami Sadayakko (1871-1946).
May the gates of the Underworlds be gentle to you.
I am in the last stages and struggles of finalizing the new record Where the Black Waters Sleep. 4 tracks of raw deep ritual trance ahead:
1. Drums Of KUR 2. Invocation Of The Gates Of The House Of No Return 3. Leaving The Sun Behind (Nothing Changes, But All) 4. Black Earth, Dark Waters, Silence Speaks
Like for my first record (Death Comes Anyway), I did and do some experiments in preparation for the 2nd one. This track is built for meditations or as an overture for lucid dreaming etc. and doesn't fit into the next record. Therefore this piece stands on its own but belongs still to the 2nd cycle.
Note: in times where the dragon of socially constructed nonsense raises its old and mighty head once again - be it with his right or be it with his left wing, or be it with his heart, drunk by whatever idiot religion or political theology - I dedicate this song to Nietzsche, which I imagine must be laughing greatly, floating and watching us from somewhere between the stars and him must greatly be entertained by mankind, which greatest and most exquisite trait seems still to be the eternal dumbness of his hearts and minds - and laughing with him together with full heart we should all because we are what we are and we are not more than we are:
Dazu muss ich in die Tiefe steigen: wie du des Abends thust, wenn du hinter das Meer gehst und noch der Unterwelt Licht bringst, du überreiches Gestirn! (Nietzsche, Also sprach Zarathustra)
Therefore must I descend into the deep: as thou doest in the evening, when thou goest behind the sea, and givest light also to the nether-world, thou exuberant star! (Nietzsche, Thus spoke Zarathustra)
I'm making good progress on the new record - 2 tracks are already finished and a 3rd is in work in progress stage. On top, I got also the new cover-artwork done. Hope to release the new stuff around September. The pic is an old work of mine, trying to give birth to some dreams with the magick tool called Photoshop. I named it Empires of the Black Wizards, and yes, you're right - the title is inspired by Emperor's I am of the Black Wizards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgQRRI9goFg
