"I d-don't know I prefer r-red vines and milk duds myself.." she muttered to herself.
I have actually. A lot of the music I listen to is pop.
Wh-who are some of your f-favourite artists?
Oryx rested her hands lightly on the sill for a moment, then reached up to tuck her hair behind her ear. “I’ve travelled a little..” she retorted with a slight smile. “But just a short trip from Vancouver to LIU isn’t th-that much..” the girl paused, “Anyways, th-the places I’d...
Oryx glanced to the few stacks around her room, she must appear busy to the few who had ever stepped in before. However, she felt as if he thought she was trying to push him out. It wasn't that she didn't want him there, she just didn't have to much of a clue on how to entertain a guest. "Not even some t-tea either?" she asked faintly. "Come on.. Y-you can't just run out on m-me.." And as he stepped towards the door she sat down on the arm of the sofa. She wasn't going to yank him back into the room, if he actually wanted to leave he could.
Well cool, what g-genre?
Pop, usually.
H-have you always liked pop?
That’s odd. I don’t really like hot weather. ‘m n-not used to it.
I've had about 20 years of s-similar summer heat.. I sh-should be used to it by now..
It’s not that hot, bu that sounds like a calm weekend. Yeah..
Isn't it?.. I f-feel in anything above f-five degrees makes me melt..
Just Another Lazy Sunday || Para || Orxy and Rhyder
Rhyder stood in his spot, his hands clasped behind his back as he spoke. Rhyder couldn’t help a faint smile spread on his lips from how Oryx spoke about her majors. It said a lot about her and who she aspired to be in the future as well as the types of people she looks up to herself. Rhyder had also taken notice of her stutter and he though it was sad that she stuttered. He, for one, hated stuttering when he was younger. It held him back from doing so much he could possibly have done. He couldn’t help but wonder the possibilities that she was capable of and how much she had missed out on. “Traveler. I can see that. You seem like a bit of a visual learner, too. Wanting to go and visually see the beauty of the places you learn about.”
Oryx rested her hands lightly on the sill for a moment, then reached up to tuck her hair behind her ear. "I've travelled a little.." she retorted with a slight smile. "But just a short trip from Vancouver to LIU isn't th-that much.." the girl paused, "Anyways, th-the places I'd like t-to see require a t-time machine." And unfortunately, a time machine was something not available to the public just yet. And visual learner? Did she seem like that? Maybe it was her appearance but.. It was always weird to her how people judged aspects, even the smallest ones, based on how someone looked or carried themselves. It had always seemed to be a bit of a problem for her as well, people took one look at her usually and stared, gawked,, When she was younger the way she looked and what she liked labelled her as a freak.. Her youngest sister had a bit of a gap between her teeth, and was a little slow sometimes, but she was still one of the most elegant little girls she'd ever met.. "Erm.. Would you like some tea? Or coffee..?" she asked softly, she couldn't just send him out on his way after he had gone through the trouble of carrying those texts back for her.
Pretty much everything, really. I want to be a singer-songwriter, so mostly about that.
Well cool, what g-genre?
"Well wouldn’t you like t-to study an ancient cultures folklore and mythology?" she paused, that was a stupid question.. She had never met anyone besides herself who had said yes to that. "It’s just.. It’s c-cool.."
Well I think it’s pretty cool that you want to study that. It’s rare to see people like that.
She smiled a little, shyly, "So.. W-what do you study in music?"
Oryx patted the door and slipped the key in the lock, the building was a bit old and crumbly. But even with the schools offerings she had never wanted to leave the building. This seemed to be the only dorm hall on the entire campus that had the brilliant arched architecture....
"I have th-the time.." she stated quietly as she eased her textbooks down atop the worn wooden coffee table. Ah, yes.. Siblings could be a pain.. She knew that. The girl was a middle child amongst five. But she shouldn't be thinking about that, this was him telling a bit of his story. Oryx smiled at his description of youthful findings, it all sounded too cute, to truthful. It was nice to see someone speak about a passion, she realized. No matter what they were passionate about. The girl walked over to the window and pushed it open, the old musty smell of the place was embarrassing, and only something she ever realized when someone new came into the place. "I do.." she admitted quietly, there was a sudden realization that she hadn't talked to anyone for this long in quite some time. "It's just interesting to me to.. Study up on how things were in different far off places.." she laughed nervously, "T-to be honest I th-think I th-thought when I was younger I'd go escape t-to some of th-the places I was reading about.."
It’s t-thrilling.
Is it? Why’s that?
"Well wouldn’t you like t-to study an ancient cultures folklore and mythology?" she paused, that was a stupid question.. She had never met anyone besides herself who had said yes to that. "It’s just.. It’s c-cool.."
Sounds.. interesting.
It's t-thrilling.
Just Another Lazy Sunday || Para Orxy and Rhyder

"I major in Sound Engineering and Audio Production," he answered for her. "There is a lot of reading of instructions in order to put a lot of the machinery and wires in the correct places but apparently it gets a lot easier once you do it a few times. And by the looks of this textbook," he noted, looking down,"you would be studying Humanities or something similar?" He asked. Rhyder took in his surroundings, noticing the vandalism on the concrete walls as Oryx took out her key to unlock her dorm room.
Oryx patted the door and slipped the key in the lock, the building was a bit old and crumbly. But even with the schools offerings she had never wanted to leave the building. This seemed to be the only dorm hall on the entire campus that had the brilliant arched architecture. "Wow.. Th-that sounds p-pretty complicated!" she laughed truthfully, pushing her hip against the door to nudge it open. "What got you into th-that?.." the corners of her lips tugged into a smile, "Double major in anthropology and humanities."
Just Another Lazy Sunday || Para Orxy and Rhyder
"Oh, I love to read!" Rhyder smiled. "I agree, though. I read a lot more when I was younger. Now I read a lot more poems and textbooks for my subjects than anything. Or instruction manuals."{ Rhyder had noticed a slight stutter on the girl, getting the sense that she was nervous and not used to talking to complete strangers. Or maybe something had happened to her like had happened to him. "Y’know, they say that the best people in the world are readers but those who’re even better read and relate it to the world they’re living in," he stated as he looked at one of the headings on the textbooks.
Oryx nodded as her sight zeroed in on the very last hall, her home. It seems yet again someone had spray painted the side of the building.. Campus police wouldn't be too happy about that. "What subject do you t-take?" she asked quietly, adjusting the grip and the sling of her arm around her texts. "Th-that makes sense," the girl replied as she began to fumble around in her pocket for with her now free hand for her keys. "C-considering you could assume everyone of us is a character in our own stories.." she paused, this was all hypothetical of course, "Th-the relation is uncanny.."
Music. Yourself?
Anthropology and Humanities!

Rhyder shrugged his shoulders lightly. ”I’m not into horror movies…” he mumbled softly. ”But ‘m sure it was very… spine tingling. It’s alright, I’ll help y’take your things to your dorm no matter where it is,” he smiled. He followed Oryx, walking beside her on the path. ”So d’you like t’read?” He asked, his eyes flickering over to her as they dawdled along the path. ”Y’look like they type t’love reading, anyway.”
"Th-they're alright.." she replied, "I like creepy ones.. Not so much th-the gore or cheep thriller kinds.." And at the assurance of him she slowly began to lead the way down the path, tucking her hair behind her ear as she scanned the space before them. "I do.." Oryx replied with a grin, "Th-though I don't read as much as I did when I was younger.." she shrugged "I had a lot of time to back th-then.. What about you?" she asked, "You like to read?"
He nods to her question. “I’m really trying this time around.”
Th-that's all a person could ever hope for.. Er.. So I've been told..
What are you t-taking?
