Innistrad Restored
I saw the new lands released and immediately fell in love with them and how they are alternate versions of the innistrad ones, so I threw together these gifs so I could bask in their prettiness looping back and forth forever. Mmmm.
When will we see more cards from you? Your work is gorgeous!
Thanks. Unfortunately I've had too much homework and no free time lately; 3D Modelling & Animation is a harsh mistress.
Do you erase your card borders before you paint on them, or do you just paint right on top?
Just paint right on top, no erasing.
Do you do requests?
Yes!
Artist Dreams: When you see the art for Magic the Gathering, and want to work under Wizards of the Coast's commissions someday.
Last one for today. I like this one. I think I'll make a playset for my monoblack deck.
Does anyone know if I should be putting some sort of clear coat of paint on these? Would I coat it over the entire card? Or just the painted parts? Shiny coat? Matte coat? Too many questions in this post? Should I ask some more? Can I keep this going? Or should I just post the next card already? :P
I was a little more than careless with keeping the edges straight on these next three. I blame someone for making me laugh while I was painting them. :B I'll have to go back in and neaten them up later.
I play a lot of Magic and I do a lot of artsy crap so I don't know why it's taken me this long to combine the two. Here's my first card alteration: Jace's Erasure. It's a little messy, but not too bad. I just extended the picture on this to try it out and see how hard painting on cards was. Turns out it's super fun so I'm gonna do more, and I made this Tumblr to show 'em off.
More to come soon! I need to get more paint colors first.
