He can’t personally infect them—but technically, if he did not contain the virus in his own code upon noticing it, it would have eventually spread to the players,,,but their responses would have been drastically different in that they’d instantly abstract, lol. It would effectively scramble their brain scans. Unluckily for Caine, it was made with his status as a “hyper advanced AI that likes eating things it’s not supposed to” in mind lmfao, so he’s alone in this.

I think the storyboard is roughly 1/3 done, some frames are too difficult to be expressed through digital art so i have to go back to traditional to draw out what I was trying to imagine 🤔 I don’t think I got the Caine imagery I wanted lol he’s suppose to look a tad more dead inside @thatdude20

i know i keep posting about my situation (tl;dr a pipe burst in my apartment and destroyed all my electronics)

3 weeks later i'm still fighting my landlords over property damage and unfinished repairs. i've had to spend ~$1600 this month on top of my normal living expenses while also being unable to work. i am going fucking insane trying to navigate this & i'm doing everything i can but this situation has wrecked me financially and upended my life, i'm the most broke i've ever been right now

i've replaced my computer and tablet and i'm back to working on commissions, but anything helps. shit is rough so i really appreciate everybody who's offered me support & kindness the past few weeks

Help, saileo/blutyr here I promise I’m still working on that animatic and I haven’t abandoned the project 😭turns out animation is just so…much HARDER then I expected, I honestly have a newfound respect for animators. Animation in general is a very very new media I haven’t explored so I’m learning how to do this on the way too. Yeah, this whole thing might take a month or longer, this is my biggest project yet

Infected digital circus au

The first designs for au are ready and now I can share it. The point of au is, what if abstraction turned out to be a virus? For now, there are only design ideas, and the next characters will be in a different part, and I will tell you about the stages of infection. :DDD

After that, it is planned to make separate ref leechs for all the characters, like Caine, to tell more about what has changed.

«What if abstraction is a virus?»

No one knows where the virus came from.

Some say it was always in the circus — just sleeping deep in the bowels of the system, waiting for its time. Others believe that it was brought by one of the newcomers — a random failure that turned into a disaster. Still others are sure: it was Caine who accidentally ran the wrong script, trying to make the Circus even "funnier".

No one knows the truth. Not even the administrator himself.

The virus manifested itself suddenly. At first, it was just minor glitches: characters would freeze for a second, their textures would flicker, and static would leak from the speakers. Caine attributed it to overloading. Then the voices began—soft, insistent, whispering the worst.

And then the first inhabitant transformed into a black, glitching creature with multiple eyes.

Caine called it "abstracting" and locked them in the Basement. He thought it was an isolated incident. He thought he had everything under control.

He was wrong.

The virus was contagious. It spread through contact, through damaged code, and through fear—the more panicked the victim became, the faster the disease progressed. There were four stages: from a quiet whisper to complete loss of self.

When the infected in the Basement broke free, Caine was already in the second stage.

He left. Alone. To avoid infecting anyone.

Since then, the Circus has been divided into those who are trying to survive and those who can't be saved. But there are also those who are immune to the virus. Qwill and Kinger. Their minds are too broken or too strange for the virus to latch onto.

They are the only ones who can search for Caine

And they are the only ones who can try to save everything else.

I've had this done for nearly 2 god darn weeks, but then I saw a similar AU on tumblr, then tiktok dropped another so my motivation suffered a hit. The fact that I'm slow af doesn't help. Also I can't condense information to save my life. I still write down my scatterbrain ideas, but idk man, more cake theory or no?

Should I continue?
