I hate when my friends start ranting cuz it makes me want to make it about myself or start joking around. Even when it's about me when I Cut myself I joke about it saying "ha ha I couldn't help it" or "oh well lmao". It's a reason I fiction kin Dazai, copping with humor is something I've always done.
