Quizás es por el hecho de que aún te ame, y eso lamentablemente no puedo cambiarlo.

Why detective Lionel Fusco? When? How? What episode or season?

i love “how?” like it was accomplished by dark rites and strange apparatus. i just like him jeez.

I guess I’d say broadly that Fusco as a character was a deeply rewarding TV-watching experience. I liked him pretty much immediately because he was a funny bastard man and that’s just what I enjoy. I think I became genuinely interested in the character around the fourth episode just because you get a look at the pressures that are guiding him to make the decisions he makes and he’s not so much Pure Evil as he is a guy who made some really bad decisions and is now in way over his head. And I kind of started to think that, first of all, this is a really well-made character, and second of all, he genuinely has the potential to become a better person, and I really want to see that happen.

And then I got to see it happen! I love Fusco’s redemption arc so much. In a lot of ways, it’s the redemption arc I’ve always wanted because it’s not a thing where the bad person falls in love with a good person and it “fixes” them, or a thing where the bad person realizes the error of their ways and then heroically dies 5 seconds later. It’s a thing where a guy looks at himself and goes, “Man, I am garbage,” and undertakes the hard work necessary to not be garbage anymore. He doesn’t do it alone - Reese pretty much blackmailed him onto the path to self-improvement and Carter was a crucial role model for him during the early seasons - but Fusco’s redemption arc is intrinsically motivated. Other people forced him into this situation, but he’s the one who decides to make the most of it and take the opportunity to get his shit together. Becoming a good person is Fusco’s responsibility, and he really owns that. I like that. I think that’s dope. I think more redemption arcs should be like that.
